Amazing staff…welcoming and very helpful. Room is spacious and clean. Bathroom is modern and shower has good water pressure. Location is excellent, about 2 small blocks from the main avenue. The apartment was super clean, staff was super nice and the breakfast was good. The loud noises at night kind of kept me up. It’s a hard hill for a lot of cars to go up so they have to be very loud going up the hill

The hotel was fantastic. Originally had three nights booked, and needed to last minute book an extra night and it was so easy to do so. The hotel was very clean. The beds were comfortable. The shower was nice and hot. The staff were very friendly. The hotel itself is in the perfect location in the city with everything in walking distance. I don’t know when I’ll make it back to Ushuaia, but if I do I’ll choose this hotel.

A great hotel. The only bad thing is the breakfast which has no hot food, no vegetables, no fresh fruit, and only hard boiled eggs, cold ham and cheese and many pastries and bread. You have to request the cold eggs and cheese, which is sometimes hidden and is served by staff members. Other than the breakfast which should be improved, this is a great place, very centrally located. Great staff

Hotel Austral was awesome. The personnel was super nice and helpful with suggestions where to go and eat. The rooms were very comfortable and clean. A major plus that all the personnel at the front desk spoke vey good English.

Great mid-grade stay

Two blocks from the Main Street (quiet) with a simple yet good breakfast. Very large room that did have some minor repair needs. Overall a great place with a nice staff at a fair price. Clean and comfortable which are important to me.

I love the location of the hotel. Close to everything, the port, the bus station, great restaurants very close. The beds are so comfortable , the personal are very nice. I didn’t like the water on the sink as it was not clear but I am not sure if this something normal in the area, and the hell hill you need to walk to get to the hotel, but it’s worth it. I would definitely stay here again.

Excellent customer service

I was very impressed with the customer service at the hotel - they provided a very detailed overview of the different activities available in the area, together with very fair pricing and lots of other relevant information. They also helped me make all the activity bookings, taxi bookings and got me dairy-free milk when I requested it for my intolerances.

Rustic and up on the hill. So if you have mobility issue find other hotels on the ground. Otherwise find this hotel has basic facilities adequate sufficient breakfast. I dont each much anyway. No ventilation but I was told you can open the window slighly ajar to let fresh air come in and was told no one will rob you while you are sleeping. So far so good my 3 nites there are unscathed. The best part the staff hotel are wonderful friendly and helpful.

Hotel Austral Ushuaia offers a solid and convenient base for exploring the city, thanks to its central location close to restaurants, shopping, and the port. Despite being right in the heart of things, the hotel is pleasantly quiet, making it easy to rest after a day of activities. Rooms are clean and comfortable, though it’s worth noting that the “annex” does not include daily room cleaning, which some travellers may find inconvenient. Be cautious with the shower temperature, as it can swing from scalding hot to cold during peak usage times. The hotel provides a very basic continental breakfast, but keep in mind that it doesn’t start until 07:30—which I found too late for my planned daily excursions. Note: The hotel sits on a very steep hill, so be prepared for a challenging walk when coming up from downtown. Overall, Hotel Austral Ushuaia is a practical and well-located option, especially for travellers who value convenience and a peaceful stay, with just a few quirks to keep in mind.

Comfortable and spacious suite

The suite I stayed was clean and spacious. The bed is comfortable. The location is very convenient too, close to restaurants and shopping. The complimentary breakfast was good. The only complaint I have is that the hot water didn’t work first. The front desk lady came to check and found it was turned off. She turned it on and it worked fine since.
