Soraypampa Sky Dome Camps

10/10 Excellent
"I gave this stay excellent ratings across the board because, while it wasn’t a luxury hotel experience, they did an amazing job with what they have in such a remote location. The domes were clean, warm, and ready for us on time. The staff was very attentive and seemed to be constantly working to make sure everyone had hot water, clean facilities, warm bedding, and good food. They also offered inexpensive home-cooked meals, plus fun little extras like snacks and hot cocoa for our family. The location is what really makes it special. We had breathtaking views of Humantay and Salkantay Mountains right from our domes, and there was very little light pollution, so the night sky was beautiful. This is a small business with limited staff, and we really appreciated how hard they worked to make sure we were comfortable and taken care of. We had a wonderful stay and would absolutely recommend it to anyone looking for a unique experience in Soraypampa."

The best area to stay in Uratari, for an authentic and tranquil experience, is within the village itself or in the immediate surroundings of the Sacred Valley.Staying directly in Uratari offers a unique opportunity to connect with the local community and experience Andean culture first-hand. This small village is located in the Sacred Valley of the Incas, surrounded by terraced fields and stunning mountain views. You'll find a few guesthouses and homestays here, offering a more personal and less touristy stay compared to larger towns. It's an excellent choice for couples or solo travellers seeking a peaceful retreat and a deeper understanding of local life. For those who prefer a slightly more developed setting while still being close to Uratari's charm, staying in one of the nearby towns like Urubamba or Ollantaytambo offers more amenities. Urubamba, for example, has a wider selection of hotels, restaurants, and shops, and is just a short drive from Uratari. It's a convenient base for exploring the Sacred Valley, including the Pisac market and the Ollantaytambo ruins, and offers easier access for day trips further afield.

The daytime temperatures are pleasant, typically ranging from 20-25°C, though evenings can be cool. This period is great for hiking, visiting archaeological sites, and enjoying the stunning Andean scenery without the interruption of heavy rain.Couples looking for a romantic and adventurous trip will find this season particularly appealing. The dry conditions allow for comfortable treks to sites like the Inca Trail or Machu Picchu, and the sunny weather makes for excellent photography opportunities. It's also a great time for enjoying outdoor dining and the vibrant local culture.Families travelling with children will also benefit from the dry season.
