The COVID-19 outbreak has ushered in big changes to the way we travel. If you plan to jet off to Uptown, the following tips will help you navigate these new travelling challenges:

• Find out if any travel restrictions apply to your origin and destination before booking your flight. Also check if there are any conditions you'll need to follow on arrival, such as mandatory quarantining.
• Wear a face mask during airport screening. A TSA officer will ask you to lower your mask temporarily for identification purposes.
• To reduce the possibility of cross-contamination, position your boarding pass on the scanner yourself and then hold it up for inspection. Do not hand your pass directly to a TSA officer.
• One liquid hand sanitizer container is now permitted in your carry-on luggage. It must be no bigger than 12 oz (350 ml), and you'll need to take it out of your bag for screening.
• To reduce handling during the screening process, place personal items such as your keys, wallet, phone and belt into your carry-on rather than the bins.
• Separate any food you have for screening. Putting it in a clear plastic bag and into a bin reduces the need for a TSA agent to handle and inspect your belongings.
