The cottage was lovely, clean and a great location. Kayaking was perfect and the water was clean. There was some confusion with listing details on whether bedding/towels would be provided (they aren’t), which led to some last minute scrambling on our part to ensure our comfort. Overall, highly recommend.
Camilla and Ziggy’s place is as beautiful as it is relaxing!
This cottage has it all: swimming (the water is a perfect temperature!), kayaks, a SUP, bikes, a big deck for hanging out and barbecuing, a beautiful interior. The hosts even made sure we had extra life jackets available to make sure that everyone in our crew had something that fit properly.
This property was perfect for our family of 5.
Communication was great, and any questions we had were responded to quickly.
I honestly couldn’t have picked a better place for our vacation!
Had a big water, ocean-like feel, like a fishing village out east. Because it’s on an inlet the water is warm too, so nice for swimming. Lots of fishing boats. Overall this was a clean, nice apartment with beautiful water views, and a private dock, great for a working vacation, the hosts are very nice and helpful, there is wifi. Bring everything you need for meals (including things like cooking oil) as - I think there is a convenience store nearby but the nearest grocery store is an hour away! Enjoyed the kayaks and paddle board. Mostly as advertised, if something is particularly important to you confirm they have it as they are making improvements. They lots of TV options if the weather is bad.
We enjoyed our stay very much, the environment was gorgeous views all around. And also use of canoes and board were much appreciated.
Only thing to know ahead if you like to hike is that the only way to get on hiking trails is through entering the provincial parks. It’s unsure why that is. Never heard of this. Even a local hiker informed me of trails maps and re that fact. Just a heads up the information centre around French river may be permanently closed so it’s useful to search details of hiking trails ahead of time. Aside from that tip for hiking if that’s your jam, it’s truly a
Well built gorgeous place !
The cottage was exactly as described and had everything we were looking for. Camilla was very informative and quick to respond to any questions, and the check-in process was smooth and easy. We had a great stay and would happily return.
My wife and I decided to rent a cottage for 3 days while we explored Killarney Provincial Park and the surrounding area. This cottage was secluded with an abundance of privacy, acted as home-base as we went on countless hiking adventures and was picturesque on all accounts. The interaction with the owners/property managers was extremely easy and we are looking forward to returning in the near future.
The property is absolutely beautiful! The hosts did an amazing job with renovations. The cottage is spotless and in a great location. The kids enjoyed kayaking and the asortment of DVDs. Definately a peaceful and relaxing vacation. We look forward to booking again nest year!
My family and I really enjoyed our stay there! Nice friendly host Ziggy showed us around and made us feel comfortable right from the start. Loved waterfront scenery from the spacious balcony so much! The nature is amazing and authentic in this area. We also got lots of big fish during our boat trip there. Great time spend, highly recommend.
We enjoyed our stay immensely. The cottage was as advertised. it was clean with all the amenities that were listed. The kayaks that were provided were fabulous and the Inlet is a perfect place to utilize them. The deck was a great place to enjoy the sunset with a cold beverage...most of all, it was sooo quite and serene.
Would surely go back :)
Great private location on the water! Pictures don’t do the cottage justice, everything is brand new and clean. Perfect stay for a small family or couple.
Only feedback I would give is to put a curtain on the main bedroom glass door, great view but it is very bright from the sun, and from the marina lights at night.
Camilla and Ziggy offer a beautiful apartment on the ground floor of their house (they are not there when they have guests). It is perched on a high point so you have water views all around. It is thoughtfully decorated with guests in mind. It has two bedrooms and a kitchen that opens to the living room. Lots of space, with views of the river from almost every window. A large deck with a table and chairs allows outdoor cooking and dining. The water is great for swimming, fishing, and motor boating though not so great for canoeing because of the wind and the current; however, there are lots of canoe only lakes within a short drive. Great place to bike also.
We had a very relaxing week after a very long drive. We continued to marvel at how well built the house was (all Ziggy's workmanship). Camilla left us beautiful flowers, fresh fruit, and best of all, chocolate.
