"I have travelled the World extensively, and this property is possibly my favourite of any I have stayed in. It maintains old world colonial character and charm, with its very high standards, excellent staff, and wonderfully relaxed atmosphere. We stayed 8 years ago and have been planning g a return since. We are however devastated to hear that the hotel will close at the end of its current lease in August 2027, so this was likely to be our last ever visit."

"Got upgraded to a suit, that was super nice , very India and vegetarian friendly breakfast buffet - has Jain food as well - dosa, sambar, dhokla, poha etc . The bathtub inside the room with a view was great. Loved the blue tooth speaker in the room as well to enjoy some music. Room was largely clean, guest services are a hit or a miss , sometimes on time sometimes delayed. Laundry takes a day, If given in the night they give it back next day same time. Reception also helps with dollar exchange to Lankan rupees. The hotel also has an in house Indian restaurant. The jacuzzi is in an odd place but the infinity pool is in a nice place with a view"

"We were there for 4 nights. The staff made it one of the most memorable stays we had anywhere in the world (we both travel a lot globally for both pleasure and business). They were warm, friendly and showed a genuine interest in making us feel welcomed. We were on vacation, but we had packed lots of things into our schedule. Hotel staff was finding ways to help us enjoy our visit and somehow do everything we wanted to do. Special kudos to Kaveen (for greeting us every morning with a smile and checking on everything), Emaleen (for all the traditional SL sweets!) and everyone we met at Pavilion (too many names to remember). Obviously it is one of the top hotels in Colombo so not surprisingly, the hotel is beautiful and rooms are fantastic with amazing views of Indian ocean and Colombo City. It is located at the best place for convenience and that is why we stayed there at the first place. Lot of space to meet up with friends and hang around as well. We wish we had a few more days to explore everything but I am sure Rathnadeepa will be our first choice in Colombo going forward. We visit SL regularly & have stayed at almost all the top hotels around Colombo, so we can say with confidence it will be hard to beat the hospitality and friendliness of staff at Rathnadeepa. Thank you. We really appreciate everything you all did."
