WINDERMERE COTTAGE
Very short small car park that is not so easy to navigate.Entrance is some what cramped so if youve a large bag you will struggle with entrance ans stairs. The Host was very friendly upon arrival and explained the accommodation set up and local area very well. Once inside the the decor is inkeeping with suroundings still a little dated somewhat and not of the cleanest of standards that i would expect but im sure the spiders liked it that way.The pungent smell of the room and accommodation is that of an alleged air freshner, apparently definitely not a smell ive come across previously in a tin. The room was small but had everthing we needed,travel kettle and mini cups included even the draught was friendly from all windows. Of which has nice viewes over the scrubland to the rear.Our stay lasted for all of 1 hour as the accommodation 75 yards down the road Wow amazing

Response to Vindictive ReviewThis review is full of untrue vindictive comments. I was contacted by the guest who informed me that she would post a negative review if I did not agree to give her a full refund. I do not take kindly to threats and will not be bullied in to giving unnecessary refunds. The guest did not inform me till 16 hours after arrival that she was looking to go elsewhere which I find difficult to understand. I reviewed her complaints and found that non of the issues were true and therefore refused to give the refund she demanded. The result is this vindictive negative review. Landing Cottage Guest House has received many positive comments and has achieved a high overall review score which can be seen by the other reviews on this sight, therefore I suggest that the content of this vindictive review should not be taken seriously.

Great overnight stay!
Lovely B&B! The host is really friendly, clean and comfy rooms, nice and warm even though I stayed during a snow storm, delicious breakfast! Perfect for an overnight stay for a wedding.

Excellent stay, great breakfast and lovely Hosts! Highly recommend for a taste of rustic yet ancient grandeur. Not from from the Seine and a great walk or picnic possibility.

Bedroom was very nice, clean, airy and tidy. Coffee and biscuit on arrival in room. Colin the host was very welcoming and friendly without being intrusive and on hand to offer any advice on the surrounding area and ideas on where to visit. We had lovely sleeps and found the beds comfortable for our liking. Breakfast was delicious, full English, toast, mixed fruit and yoghurt and variety of cereals and juices. Safe off road parking right outside the cottage. Would recommend for a comfy quiet base while visiting the Lakes.

Colin and Sharon fabulous hosts. Nothing was a trouble for them to assist our 4 night stay. Lovely comfortable lounge room to relax in. Great outdoor area to enjoy the sun and have a drink. And of course not to forget the lovely English breakfast.

We had a wonderful stay at Landing Cottage, its a beautiful property and Colin was very welcoming and friendly. The cottage itself if very close to the lake and has some lovely walks nearby with access to the steam railway and ferry tours. We had a wonderful home cooked full English breakfast, veggie options included, complete with a smiling face :)!!! I am sure we will return again soon fir a longer stay. We can highly recommend staying here as you will not be disappointed. Enjoy!!

Highly Recommended for a comfortable stay
We stayed here for two nights on our way back from a road trip around Scotland. Excellent location close to Lake Windermere and only a few minutes’ walk from the Ferry to Bowness and the Steam Train to Haverthwaite. We booked the king size ensuite room which was very comfortable and clean. There is free wifi and free parking on site. Colin is a marvellous host who made us feel very welcome. He provided excellent local advice and even assisted us backing out of the driveway on our last day! For breakfast there are cereals, yoghurt, fresh fruit, fruit juices and a delicious and plentiful freshly cooked breakfast which really sets you up for the day. Thank you Colin for a lovely and comfortable stay. Landing Cottage Guest House is Highly Recommended for a comfortable stay close to Lake Windermere.

Greeted by the owner who was lovely and very helpful. Room.was nice but a tad small. Very clean and lots of added touches. Tea and coffee toiletries etc Nearest hotel was for guests only so had to drive a couple of miles for food. Bed was a weird memory foam like material which I didnt like. It was hard to move on and get out of. I woke several times with pains in hip and back. Breakfast was delicious and a credit to owner who had told us the oven had packed in the day before.

Excellent hosting, very knowledgeable and helpful and welcoming, the property is on a bend and Collin stood in the road to make sure that we got out safely. The cottage is a short walk to the lake and for cruises along windermere, windermere itself is only 7 miles up the road. All in all a great place with a brilliant host.

Colin the host was friendly and helpful. My room was downstairs with a private entrance and was spacious. The shower, as in many B&B's, was tiny but the water pressure good. The downside was that I could hear people in the room above walking and talking and every time they used the bathroom the extractor fan ran for about 10-15 minutes and was very irritating. The fruit salad at breakfast was outstanding. I could have eaten the whole bowl. The hot breakfast was the English breakfast.

Would have preferred an ensuite bathroom, and at least a larger shower which was almost too small to turn around. It also needed some hooks for clothing to keep articles dry. The response to the booking should have included confirmation that it included breakfast

Fantastic location, just a few yards to the Windermere ferries, train, aquarium and Lakeside Spa Hotel, which serves excellent food. Free parking, slightly tricky exit back onto road whete few drivets seem to obey the 30mph limit. However, owner is happy to guide you out. Lovely breakfasts, comfy beds, owner recommended a great local walk and provides daily weather forecasts.Really top quality personal service! Only niggle was that the shower floor in the en-suite room was very slippery - it really needs a shower mat. Overall, very happy and likely to return.

Landing Cottage was private and quiet and very conveniently located near The Lakes ferry services. Accomodation was very comfortable. We enjoyed the hospitality showed by Colin and he is a friendly, helpful host. Great breakfast cook too. We all enjoyed our 5 nights there.

Colin the owner was an excellent host and made us feel very welcome and provided us with a very tasty full breakfast each morning of our stay. Our room was clean and very comfortable and the only downside if any to our stay was the shared bathroom facility as would have preferred an en-suite room had this been available.
