About this property
2 Bed in Ulverston (oc-sz591)
The welcoming and picturesque village of Haverthwaite is home to the popular Lakeside and Haverthwaite Railway, where you can catch a steam train and head to the southern tip of Windermere just 4 miles away. Other local attractions include the famous Lakeland Motor Museum (2 miles), Fell Foot (4.5 miles) and the Lakes Aquarium in Newby Bridge (4 miles). Coniston Water is to the north (8 miles) and there are some wonderful woodland and lakeside walks to enjoy, with Rusland Moss and Gummer’s How nearby (both within 5 miles). To the south, the Furness peninsula is home to the Laurel and Hardy Museum in Stan Laurel’s home town of Ulverston (6 miles).
On entering this cosy and inviting property, the kitchen/diner offers a warm welcome. Featuring a wide range of equipment, including an electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge/freezer, dishwasher and wine cooler, as well as a handy TV, this is a great space for preparing your favourite meals which you can share around the dining table that overlooks the garden. Exploring the ground floor further, there’s a king-size bedroom which can be made up as a twin room on request. The main family bathroom is also on this floor, complete with a shower over the bath and a WC. Heading upstairs, the first floor has the light, spacious and airy lounge. This room is full of character, with exposed wooden beams in the vaulted ceiling, a cosy wood burner set in an original fireplace, and far-reaching views from the large windows which are set in an exposed stone wall. With a TV and plenty of seating, the lounge is an ideal space for unwinding in at the end of a wonderful day. The second bedroom is also on this floor: a bright and charming king-size room with exposed stonework and beautiful views from the window. The bedroom also benefits from an en-suite WC. Finally, the second floor houses the stylish shower room complete with a shower cubicle and WC – this room is set in the eaves of the house, with a low sloping ceiling and a skylight.
Stepping outside, the pretty back garden is enclosed and features a charming patio area with outdoor furniture, providing a delightful space for relaxing and enjoying the glorious surrounding views on a sunny afternoon. Off-road parking is available for up to two cars, with further roadside parking just below the house.
