  • Jagdish Temple is one of the famous temples of Udaipur. Located in the City Palace complex of Udaipur, this temple is made in the Indo-Aryan style of architecture. In 1651, Jagdish temple was built by Maharana Jagat Singh, who ruled Udaipur during 1628-53. The temple is dedicated to Lord Vishnu (Laxmi Narayan), the preserver of the Universe. It is celebrated for being the largest temple in the city of Udaipur. The gateway of this temple can be sited at a distance of 150 meters from the Bara Pol of the City Palace. This three-storied temple is a wonder of architecture that comprises beautifully carved pillars, decorated ceilings, painted walls and lush halls. In those times, 1.5 million rupees were spent to raise this structure. The spire of the main temple is around 79 feet high that undoubtedly dominates the skyline of Udaipur. This shikhar (spire) is festooned with sculptures of dancers, elephants, horsemen and musicians making it truly a sight to behold. As and when you approach the temple, you will be welcomed by two huge stone elephants at the entrance. On the very front of the temple, you would find a stone slab that is imprinted with the inscriptions with reference to Maharaja Jagat Singh. To reach the main shrine, you have to take a marble flight of 32 steps. Here, you will find a brass image of Garuda, a figure of half-man and half-eagle. This huge idol stands as if; it is guarding the doorway of Lord Vishnu.

The hotel is relatively basic but very nice style. We had an issue in our room which was pretty bad but the staff did try to help and eventually moved us to a suite. There were no dairy alternatives for milk which was tricky but fine. The masala dosa for breakfast was very nice. A few more towels would be great!

The room was almost like a suite - very large and spacious. The staff was very friendly and courteous. The beds were very comfortable and above all the location was very central and easy to get to from any where. Really had a wonderful stay.

It's just average. Wifi won't work. Hot water takes time. Water in the shower won't drain properly it takes time. The bathroom doors are short you need to be careful. Street dogs outside will bark all night and sleep will be disturbed.

We booked the hotel from 27-01-2020 To 2-03-2021 We arrived at the hotel and the staff member informed us that they cancelled our booking because we did not attend there call they automatically cancel our booking which is very very terrible we then asked if they could give us another room then he advised sorry we have no occupancy or rooms available We had heavy bags and then they start selling us another room at one of their other locations which we never wanted we asked if we could use their wifi to book another hotel since they cancel the booking without our consent the. They said we don’t have wifi for guest and we only have visitor wifi DO NOT Book this hotel they will mess up your plans without your permission which is not good
