King Bed Villa with Hot Tub + Killer Views
A flowing hilltop Spanish-tiled villa with a long shaded patio, super comfy beds (king and queen), verified fast WiFi, oversized rain shower, full chef's kitchen with essential ingredients, a full coffee station with multiple preparation methods, good books, abundant wildlife and catch-your-breath views in every direction, minutes to shopping and to the entrance of Joshua Tree National Park.
Across the road, we own another unfenced five acres, which you are free to wander on. At night, wander over, let your eyes adjust to the darkness, then witness the amazing show the universe puts on almost every night.
Although this is the only house on the top of a hill amid 60 acres of preserved land, we're only five minutes from the grocery stores and about 10 to the park entrance.
The views are incredible: first, you can see all of Twenytnine Palms and Highway 62 a mile away. Then, 30 miles to the west, the tallest mountain in southern California, Mt. San Gorgonio, looms above our valley. To the south, two miles away, are the rugged Pinto Mountains, forming the northern border of Joshua Tree National Park. To the north is the sprawling marine base and behind it the Bullion Mountains and the sharp-peaked Sheephole Mountains. Then to the east, 50 miles away in the far distance, are the Turtle Mountains, looking over us on one side and the Colorado River on the other. It's a huge panorama in every direction.
The house has lots of big windows, two living room areas, and two outdoor seating areas (on opposite sides so there's always a quiet place if it's windy), so there are lots of opportunities to admire the view.
There's lots to do in the area, from (of course) enjoying the outdoors, to excellent restaurants, famous music venues, lots of public art, and if you want some chi-chi options, Palm Springs is just "down the hill" and Vegas is a gorgeous 2.5-hr drive. To help my guests with the choices, I put together a printed guide that you'll find upon arrival, including restaurant reviews, shopping, exploring the area, and generally giving you my recommendations.
It's a terrific place to spend a week or many months.

Beautiful, beautiful home. Spacious, nicely furnished and the views are to die for. Lovely kitchen, would be great for cooking, sadly we did not have the time. We loved the bed linen, soft and so comfortable. We delighted in the saguaros out the windows of our bedrooms.
Antony's home was great! It had everything we needed for our short stay. A friend flew in from the East Coast, never having been to Joshua Tree and seeing sunrise relaxing in the hot tub with a view of the Twenty-Nine Palms Valley with the mountains in the background was stunning. Inside, the house made you feel right at home. Beautiful kitchen and dining area, very comfortable bed in the master and the best coffee bar I've seen at any rental. If you're looking to do some serious stargazing, I would recommend taking the short drive into the park where there is less ambient light. Antony has a great visitors giude book in the den that is very thorough and helpful. Thanks for making our stay memorable!
A perfect spot for touring Joshua Tree! Very well equipped kitchen. Comfortable beds! Spacious! Lovely views. Antony was super helpful and responsive. The coffee and tea nook was awesome!
I loved the property. The house and amenities were great!!! The views were absolutely stunning!!! Property manager was prompt to respond!! The area was peaceful and quiet!! We'll definitely look to book again!!!
Great place to stay for your Joshua Tree adventure
The house was really nice, very spacious. The beds and seating areas (indoor and outdoor) were really comfy. The kitchen was well stocked with pots/pans and basic cooking supplies. The views were amazing- really enjoyed watching the sunrise each mornjng.
This property is absolutely gorgeous, with stunning views and unbeatable access to Joshua Tree National Park. The location is perfect—not only for exploring the park but also for enjoying the great restaurants in the surrounding area. Everything about our stay was fantastic, and we’d highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a beautiful and convenient getaway. Our only regret is that we didn’t have time to hop in the Jacuzzi! But it looked clean and warm.
We spent nine days and hiked during the day. Came back to super quiet, comfortable home to relax. Great kitchen equipment. Wish their was a drip coffee maker or kcup. The coffee bar with the French Press was not quite what we expected.
Great location - spacious, clean, comfortable house
House was as described - spacious, comfortable, private, and well-equipped. The location was great -- not far from town/JT entrance and on a hill with great views. Check in was easy and Anthony was quick to communicate. The backyard walking trails were a nice touch. We used the hot tub both nights -- on the first night it worked well and on the second night we had trouble getting the temperature to go up (not sure what we were doing wrong). Overall we recommend the place for groups.
The home was well equipped, and had the bonus of a hot tub with a view. The property has boulders and walking trails, and sits on a hill with views all around. The road is a bit rough right near the property entrance. Anthony was quick to reply to any questions. Great spot to base your adventures into the park.
Property is a perfect get away! The decor is perfect and genuinely desert original. You can feel at home with beautiful art, books and everything has the touch of a real crafted environment with attention to all the little things.Feels safe and secure perched on a hill with beautiful views of the sunrise, sunset and night sky. Great communication with host. Property as described and convenient location to park and shopping. We LOVED the binder of helpful info.
We really enjoyed our stay at Antony’s house. There was lots of space inside and out. Very quiet, on a hill with no road noise or neighbors. Spectacular views of sunrise and sunset. Great location for park access and near grocery stores and town. Bed was very comfy and kitchen was well stocked with plenty of pots and pans and sharp knives (a rarity at a vacation rental in my experience). Extremely friendly and responsive host. Had great suggestions on hikes and restaurants.
The property was perfect for our one night trip to see Joshua Tree. Antony was very timely in communication. He gave us specific instructions on getting to the house on the best roads. All instructions were clear. Our kids spent the whole time at the house playing the board games. The view at night is majestic. We got a great nights sleep.
We stayed at Antony's property for four nights and loved everything about it. It's up on a hill away from other people while close to everything we wanted to do. Close to Joshua Tree Nat'l Park, restaurants, grocery stores, etc. The kitchen and bathroom were well stocked. It's really beautiful inside and the views outside are awesome. The hot tub was installed while we were there but we didn't have a chance to try it though I can envision sitting it in, sipping on a glass of wine and looking at the stars and the valley below. Antony is definitely a super host. So responsive and easy to work with. If we are ever in that area again, there's no need for us to search for a property to stay at. We will definitely stay here again!

Liked: Check-in, communication
Disliked: Cleanliness, location, listing accuracy
Disappointing, noisy, and possibly unsafe
Health & safety: After showering, there was a strong odor of natural gas around the water heater and lingering in one bedroom. The water heater is in the center of the house. I called Antonin with our concerns and he said that he’s had the water heater checked several times, and there was no reason for concern. If one chooses to live with the odor of natural gas inside their home, so be it, but I don’t want to rent a house with that smell and the unknown risk that comes with it.Noise: High winds are a fact of life in the desert, and the wind was constant while we were there. When the wind exceeded about 20 mph the HVAC ducting transmitted a clanging (something was apparently loose) that was loudest in the kitchen and the master BR. We were unable to use the master BR because of the incessant noise from the ductwork. Cleanliness: Our standards for cleanliness are relaxed when we rent a dog-friendly house. Nevertheless, this place needs a deep cleaning, and the exterior of the house was littered with junk. Most offensive was the smell of the kitchen. We couldn’t pinpoint the source (the butcher block counter tops?), but the main kitchen/dining area was foul smelling, like an unclean deli. This was the first time we left a VRBO early. We were booked for three nights, and we left after two.
Beautiful property in a great location. Equipped with everything you need. Close to town and to the park. Host was easy to communicate with and provided very clear instructions.
Our host was great! When we arrived, one of the breakers had blown and he got it fixed so quickly. The issue was sorted by the time we got back from Joshua Tree for lunch.
