The Banarasi paan was the perfect finishing touch, and the cultural experiences added so much charm—from soulful sitar and sarangi performances to the captivating Kathak dance and even an insightful session with the astrologer. The location itself was magical. The boat ride along the ghats, the genuine care from the staff, and the breathtaking night-time Maha Aarti viewed from the boat made for an unforgettable, mesmerizing experience. "I went on a solo trip to Banaras and booked my stay at Gangotri. The hospitality truly surprised me. The owner and staff are very kind, helpful, and welcoming. I was really impressed with the facilities. The room was clean and hygiene was well maintained, which made me feel comfortable and safe as a solo traveler. Overall, it was a great experience. "The room was a dungeon. We could not unpack the suitcases as it was crammed. No place to take a shower. Refer room # 301 "

"This hotel is OK if you dont want hot running water on demand in the evenings. If you do, you need to ask the staff to switch on the immersion heater 30 minutes before you want your shower! On our last morning, there was also no hot running water. Instead, we were presented with a bucket of hot water. There is AC in the room but this is used to cool the room only and not heat the room. As we were there in winter time, we were very cold! We booked a premium room which was so small! We asked to see more rooms of the same grade but the front of house staff were not very accommodating. When we raised the issue of no hot water with the manager of the hotel, we received a highly generic and unsatisfactory response. We escalated this to the CEO from whom we received no response at all. For a hotel chain that markets itself as luxury, they fall way below that grade. They were also one of the most expensive hotels we stayed in on our trip to India but one of the lowest scoring. Go elsewhere if you want good service, warm rooms of a reasonable size and hot water as standard. Above all, go somewhere else if you want to stay at a hotel which values its clients."

"Hotel didn’t provide heating system, the room temperature was around 5 degrees. I had to request for room heaters and the staff demanded 500 Rupees per day. Finally agreed for 400 Rupees and at the end of the trip they did not give me the receipt for the Money I paid. Overall it wasn’t a pleasant stay, though the staff was trying to be friendly. The hotel should inform the customer before if there is any extra charges. "
