Such a beautiful property with excellent, personalized breakfasts. A good book by the stove in the Reception Room makes for a cozy evening. Joyce is an excellent host and cook, and Aiden is a wealth of positivity and good information.
The west wing apartments are brilliant. Lots of space. Well appointed. Friendly and helpful hosts, great breakfasts and the quiet and peace of the country. Couldn’t ask for anything more.
We stayed 6 nights at the property in the upper apartment. The apartment is spacious and well equipped. Of course due to the age of the property you cannot expect all the contemporary comfort but everything works well. It was a lovely experience to live in an authentic old castle full of atmosphere and its surroundings. The weather was not so good so we were a bit cold at the beginning. We asked for some heating and it was provided at the hours we asked for. A special mention for the delicious breakfast and the plenty of information for things to do and to see in the area. We really felt at home.

We really enjoyed our stay at CastleHacket house! The area was so peaceful and we felt very welcomed!
Quiet, lovely inn just minutes from Tuam and Galway
The inn was serene and historical and well appointed. The host showed us around when we got there and was very friendly, and the host at breakfast gave us great tips of things to do locally. Breakfast was yummy.

Castlehacket lodging
Very unique and charming stay. Enjoyed meeting other people and having an excellent breakfast. Country setting. Very quiet. Picturesque. Rooms were chilly in the evening. Check in process could be improved since we weren’t sure where to go when we arrived. Lack of water pressure at times.
My husband and I enjoyed staying Castlehacket House. Beautiful scenery, well-appointed rooms, and gracious and welcoming hosts. The breakfast was wonderful! Some quirky plumbing, as one might expect in an old house (adds to the charm), but all was in working order. We highly recommend this unique and relaxing experience!
The location and property were fantastic. The hosts were friendly and engaging. The morning breakfasts delicious. It was nice to hang out fireside in great room in the evenings and unwind.

Honestly, it was the best stay we’ve ever been to. The renovated castle is stunning! It is a place where you can relax and enjoy life. The hosts are very welcoming and always here when you need them. And the breakfast is fabulous!!
My family and I had a fabulous stay. Joyce was a wonderful and kind host who graciously welcomed us to her home. There was also a very friendly and helpful man named Aidan who assisted Joyce with making sure we were having a positive experience throughout. The accommodations were spacious and elegant. The freshly prepared "custom order" breakfasts (made by Joyce) each morning were some of the best ones we had during our visit to Ireland. We appreciated the opportunity to experience the CastleHacket House and wish we could have stayed longer!
Absolutely LOVED this home. There is something magical about staying in a renovated castle that words can't describe. The home was stately and beautiful and our apartment had all the comforts a weary traveler could hope for (comfortable beds, large bathtub, well stocked kitchen, fresh brown bread baked by Joyce for your arrival :-). Joyce has done an amazing job making it a dream escape. From the moment you pass through the old stone wall and pull up the driveway, you'll know you're somewhere amazing. If you get a clear night with no clouds, the view of the stars is beyond stunning from the front lawn. Can't say enough about this home and the lovely owner, Joyce, who made us feel so welcome. We hope to be back!
We had a fabulous time. Joyce was so kind and helpful! The Castlehacket house was amazing and the perfect stop on our trip through Ireland! We loved every minute of it!
