"A Locally owned motel. Staffs are very nice. Definitely the place showed aged building. As long as you do not have high expectations, you are fine. Did not go breakfast so no idea. The pool was closed. Beds clean, frig, microwave, TV all worked. Free parking."
"The staff were very helpful and the room was clean. However, the pool was too cold to use and the hot tub wasn't working (although the water was hot). The maintenance guy said that they had just opened the pool and hot tub which was why the timer for the hot tub wasn't turned on (??) and he wasn't able to do so (??). Manager said that pool was heated as hot as it could go per regulations (28c). It definitely didn't feel that warm and that's not warm enough for a pool that is simply big enough to get wet in and not do any kind of serious swimming. Nothing mentioned in the hotel description that stated the hot tub wasn't fully functioning nor a proper description of the pool (not for lap swimming and not heated to a relaxing temperature). We paid a very high price for the room and although it was booked for two people, we had only one chair in the room (asked for another one and they brought up an office chair); had to ask for robes (none in the room); had to ask for a breakfast tea bag (only one in the room plus one bag of chamomile). Paper cups for a room this expensive is questionable. Two towels for two people. The a/c and fan unit very loud. Sounded like a truck starting up every time it ran which was about every 30-45 minutes. We ended up only spending one of the two nights. Very disappointing."
"The room needs updated and they should clean the windows, can barely see out of them for dirt. Also was wondering why they had ear plug’s till we heard the train and all the rail crossing at night"
The Plaza Hotel Downtown, Trademark Collection by Wyndham
2/10 Terrible
"Checked us out of the room a day early with no notice, checked us in again and incurred a another 150 security deposit. Staff manager says she would email me to explain what happened, never does.
Overall, great hotel, horrible staff."
