"Room was lovely but next time i would stay on the sunny side as there was no sun on the balcony with a mountain view. Fabulous breakfast. TV doesnt link to Netflix but had YouTube. Showers need rethinking as theyre above the bath in the celing and soak the room. Lovely that theu give you 100000 to spend at the resort for each day you stay.whe you shower"

"This beautiful little budget resort is nestled in a valley outside of town. No ocean views here, but in exchange you get serenity, a gorgeous garden, and an attentive staff. The food is simple and good, I really enjoyed the seafood fried rice. You can walk to the nearby hospital cave, which I found very interesting, but for other attractions they’ll book you a car or rent you a scooter. I had a few small problems: the room could use a luggage rack or another table/dresser to lay out clothes, we didn’t have a lightbulb in our bedside lamp (they quickly provided one when asked), but overall we had a fantastic experience. This place is best enjoyed if you have some time to slow down and relax. Spend some time by the pool or the garden, away from the bustle and construction noise of town. We enjoyed hanging out at Serena almost more than the other sights at Cat Ba. We’re already talking about coming back! Oh, and the bartender makes some excellent cocktails and smoothies!"

"Hanna was the best - she helped with everything we needed! There isn’t much for other dining options in the immediate area, but a quick trip by car or bus gets you to many. Very quiet and peaceful. Smoothies were great! Bus on island easy to use and inexpensive!"

"We came to Cat Ba island with the main purpose of climbing, and picked this hotel for the perfect location right next to the best crag on the island (Butterfly Valley). The lovely owners, clean/modern room, and excellent restaurant made this the best accommodation in our entire Vietnam trip. The hotel just opened 8 months ago so there weren’t many reviews to go on - after spending a week here, we can confidently say this is one of the hidden gems of Cat Ba and the only place we’d stay at if we return. We rented a scooter directly from the owner and went down to Cat Ba town every night for dinner and drinks. You definitely get the best of both worlds staying in a beautiful and quiet rural area while still having all the city amenities only 20 minutes away. And I can’t say enough at how wonderful the owners of this place are - they truly care about their guests, going above and beyond in so many ways to make it a great experience for us. "
