About this property
Northstar Ski-In/Ski-Out Renovated 2BR, Lake Tahoe - Walk to Village
Enjoy true ski-in/ski-out at Northstar, where the Coyote Fork run passes right by our door when snow conditions allow. Start your morning with a few laps, come back for lunch at your own table, and finish the day by the gas fireplace with tree-top views.
Our recently remodeled 957-square-foot, 2-bedroom, 2-bath condo sleeps 6 in four beds and sits quietly between the slopes and Northstar Village. Two queen beds, a twin bunk bed, and two bathrooms, including a tub and shower combination, make the layout especially useful for families. In summer and fall, hiking, biking, golf, swimming, and Lake Tahoe day trips are all close by.
⭐ HIGHLIGHTS ▪ Ski-in/ski-out on Coyote Fork, a blue run leading to the Highlands Gondola, when snow conditions allow. ▪ The green Condo Run is about a two-minute walk across the parking lot and feeds the Village Express lift and Big Springs Express Gondola. ▪ Northstar Village is a short walk away, or take the free Northstar shuttle from the condo parking lot. ▪ Verified 420 Mbps WiFi and a dedicated workspace with a monitor and HP AirPrint printer/scanner. ▪ Gas fireplace, Sonos speakers, three streaming TVs, more than 50 DVDs, and a large selection of board games. ▪ Two bathrooms: a tub and shower combination downstairs, and a rain shower ensuite to the upstairs bedroom.
⭐ WINTER AT NORTHSTAR Northstar is especially well suited to families, with ski and snowboard schools and plenty of gentler terrain. A ski locker on the ground floor of the building keeps skis, boards, and wet boots out of the condo.
Northstar Village is a short walk away, with an outdoor ice rink, fire pits, restaurants, and complimentary s'mores at 4 p.m. You can also ride the Highlands Gondola up to The Ritz-Carlton, Lake Tahoe for dining or spa services.
⭐ SUMMER AND FALL Northstar offers much more than skiing. The Northstar Bike Park provides lift-served downhill mountain biking on the same lifts used during ski season, with rentals and lessons available in the Village. Hiking and cross-country trails begin at the door, and the Northstar golf course is nearby.
Kings Beach and the North Shore of Lake Tahoe are about 15 minutes away for swimming, boating, kayaking, and paddleboarding. Donner Lake is about 20 minutes away and offers another option for swimming and paddling. Sand Harbor is about 35 minutes away.
Historic downtown Truckee and Commercial Row are about 15 minutes away, with restaurants, bars, and shops. Optional access to the Northstar Property Owners Association Recreation Center provides additional swimming, tennis, and fitness facilities.
⭐ BEDROOMS AND BATHROOMS Downstairs bedroom: Queen Leesa Hybrid mattress, white linens, a 43-inch 4K HDR TV, and a Levoit HEPA air filter. The TV supports AirPlay, Chromecast, and built-in streaming apps.
Downstairs bathroom: A combination tub and shower. This is the condo's only bathtub, which can be especially useful for families with young children.
Upstairs bedroom: Sleeps four with a queen Brooklyn Bedding Signature Hybrid mattress and a twin bunk bed. It also has a 1080p TV with AirPlay and Chromecast, a 52-inch Modern Forms ceiling fan, and a Dyson HEPA air filter.
Upstairs bathroom: Ensuite to the upstairs bedroom, with a rain shower. There is no tub in this bathroom.
⭐ LIVING, KITCHEN, AND CLIMATE The living room has a remote-controlled gas fireplace, tree-top views, Sonos speakers, and comfortable space for the group to spend time together. Central heating is controlled through a Nest thermostat.
The kitchen includes a refrigerator, freezer, stove, oven, microwave, and dishwasher. It is well stocked with tableware, cookware, pots, pans, and wine glasses. Additional appliances include a coffee maker, mixer, toaster, Instant Pot, kettle, and blender.
Air filters are provided in the living room and both bedrooms. Portable air conditioning is available in the living room and upstairs bedroom during the warm season, along with multiple fans.

We enjoyed our stay at the property. The location is very convenient. The hosts are super responsive and helpful. The family had a nice, relaxing time. The ski storage facility, access to laundry, the entertainment options were all added bonuses.
Bright, airy, super clean, kitchen had everything we needed and open to the main living room. Loved the climate control, beds were very comfortable. Great access to resort amenities. Easy check in and out. We are already planning out next trip. Thank you to our Host, Eric!
We had a great 2 night stay, the location was prime and easy access to surrounding areas and the lake. Super easy to get to and check in. The directions were clear and simple. Thank you Eric and Emile for hosting us!
Owner was the most responsive of any I've ever worked with. He did his best to work on a few issues we had with the unit- not having parking permits, TV/ fireplace or their remotes not working. He responded multiple times, almost immediately each time, even while overseas. The place was clean with decent beds and in a perfect location. It would overall have been 5 stars were it not for the minor hassles.
Loved this condo! Perfectly situated next to the mountains for an easy walk to North Star village and a quick walk across the parking lot to ski in/ski out. Plenty of space for kids to play in the snow outside. Short drive to grocery store and downtown truckee. The condo was a perfect size for our family of 5. Excellent communication with the owner/property manager. Definitely recommend.
Had enjoyable stay. Trip was to do some fishing and hiking in the area. Very clean, well equipped. Had excellent communication throughout stay with owners who were helpful and checked in with us regularly to see if we needed anything. Not a big place but very comfortable for the two of us. Quiet location. Easy walk to Northstar Village. Would stay here again. Just one observation. If you have trouble with stairs, it is a bit of a climb up the walkway and two flights of stairs to get to the condo.
We had a wonderful stay at this property for our last ski trip of the season. We've stayed at a lot of Ski Trails area condos over the years, and this is our favorite one by far. All the appliances in the kitchen were in great shape, as were the Nest thermostat and fireplace. Both bathrooms looked to be recently renovated, and the updates were both tasteful and practical (imagine a bathtub you actually want to use!). Our kids loved the bunk _plus_ queen bed upstairs, and they were excited by all the available board games. The internet was very fast and the WiFi signal strong, and we even successfully cast a movie to the downstairs TV for a movie afternoon.
We're looking forward to booking another stay at this property soon!
My family and I (spouse, 2 kids - 9yo and 12yo, and my mother) enjoyed a great stay of 4 nights early January.
The living space is very cozy with a view of the trees and Lake Tahoe in the horizon. The kitchen is very functional and well stocked.
Everything worked well, including streaming to the TV which was very convenient to watch a family movie after a nice day on the slopes!
The condo is close to the Village Run trail and at a walking distance from the Big Spring and the Highlands gondolas. It is convenient to drop and pickup the kids at their snowboard lessons. The way back to the condo is uphill. It is a short walk but it is worth having a shoulder strap or a backpack with ski/snowboard carry.
The communication with the property manager was excellent: responsive, clear, and caring.
Slope Side Serenity: Family Friendly with Recreation
Our recent stay at this VRBO condo was nothing short of exceptional. The moment we walked in, we were impressed by the cleanliness and comfort of the space—it truly felt like a home away from home. The location couldn't have been better, providing easy access to both Northstar Resort and the charming town of Truckee, as well as the beautiful Lake Tahoe.
Eric and Emile, our hosts, were remarkable. From the initial booking process to our departure, they were incredibly accommodating and responsive. Any questions or concerns we had were promptly addressed, making our stay even more enjoyable and worry-free. Their hospitality truly added to the overall positive experience.
The condo itself was well-equipped and thoughtfully furnished, ensuring we had everything we needed for a delightful vacation. The beds were cozy, the living spaces inviting, and the amenities top-notch. We highly recommend this VRBO condo to anyone seeking a memorable and convenient stay in the Truckee/Lake Tahoe area. We look forward to returning in the future!
This was the perfect place for a family ski trip. Super close to the village and amenities and also a short drive to Truckee or Lake Tahoe. We can’t wait to come back!
We loved our stay! The condo was beautifully decorated and stocked - had absolutely everything we could need. The host was super responsive and helpful with my questions, too!
We had a wonderful stay at the condo. It was very clean and great for a family of 4 with two little kids! Very convenient location, walking distance to the Northstar village. Would definitely stay here again!
We arrived in the evening when it was dark and the directions to the property were so easy to follow. Everything is very well labeled making it so easy to figure out the heating, tv and even the coffee maker. The home is exactly as pictured. It is very clean and well maintained. If you are looking for a mountain get away, this condo is the perfect choice.
Well located, perfectly appointed, and attentive host.
Have tried a few locations in/around Northstar - this condo is beautifully upgraded, and incredibly kid-friendly, and steps from the ski run. Managed by the owners who were in frequent contact in the days before the trip, including a surprise email advising we could check in early (unexpected, unasked, though enthusiastically welcomed). Would stay again.
