Beautiful and Comfortable

Our family of six had a wonderful stay at Norse Hall. There was plenty of room for everyone to spread out. The neighborhood was peaceful and close enough to amenities.

The MOST wonderful place!

Our group (3 couples) came up for a week - our second stay in this fabulous house. What can we say? It has everything you could want. Lots of space for everyone, a wonderful kitchen, and amenities like a hot tub and outdoor BBQ. Access is usually easy with immaculately plowed roadways. We had a few glorious days of sun, then hunkered down for the great snow-in (early March '24) where we stayed snug inside and watched the snow pile up outside. We honestly couldn't have loved it more. If you are lucky enough to book Norse Hall, count your blessings!

Great family location

Great location near downtown Truckee and Donner Lake. The house has everything you need and the exposed beams are a nice architectural feature. We had excellent communication with the property manager which made for a easy trip.

Winter Wonderland ❄️

This home was perfect for our family of 5! So spacious yet very cozy. We took our chances and traveled here during the storm ~ the driveway and streets leading to this home were plowed regularly. The hot tub was so relaxing after a day on the slopes! Great proximity to Tahoe Donner and Sugarbowl. The kitchen had everything you could possibly need. We plan on staying here again this summer.

Superb mountain retreat

Beautiful mountain lodge set in a peaceful star filled setting. Everything has been designed for comfort, elegance and no expense has been spared; Down to the plush towels the linens and the beautiful antique rugs. And extremely well equipped kitchen as well as a grill outside to make cooking fun, and a hot tub in the early morning or under the star canopy is a real treat. This is a four bedroom, three full bathrooms beautiful home. The great room has a fireplace to make it cosy. Everything about this space is luxurious!

Beautiful mountain Lodge

As soon as you go in to this beautiful mountain lodge you experience the combination of great style, interesting architect, comfort ,cleanliness, and a home that is exquisitely decorated and everything there for your creature comforts. From the fluffy white plush towels, To the crisp cotton sheets, to a very well stocked kitchen, to a spa like a hot tub, to the exquisite hand woven rugs underfoot. You could even be tempted when you stay here to not even step outside because it's so lovely, but you notice that it is so well situated for great hikes nearby, as well as the convenience of the little town too. I thoroughly recommend staying here and give it five stars.

Terrific property with lots of charm

This is a wonderful rental for the neighborhood. We chose it because it had all the amenities that we want in a mountain stay (specifically a hot tub and a wood fire place). It was w great house and easy for our two families to share. The property management company was excellent and called to welcome us and were available the whole time for a couple of questions. The kitchen is really well appointed and lots of games and puzzles for entertainment. The back yard ended up being an excellent bonus for the kids to play in and burned so much energy when not on the slopes. And, the two car garage was also a bonus so no one was stuck de-icing their car. We would definitely stay here again.

Nice home-can be something with some maintenance & deep cleaning. Feels as though the home is neglected- Dishes were dirty. Everything had to be washed before use. Water pressure is very low in master shower- not comfortable to use. 2nd upstairs shower has a leak through downstairs ceiling. No shovel in the garage to deal with snow. We had to cut our trip down by a couple days due to this uncomfortable situation. Sadly, we left feeling gipped, we paid for a luxury stay and came up short.

Awesome home in Tahoe Donner with access to HOA amenities

We took a family vacation for six days to the Norsehall house in Tahoe Donner in July. It was a wonderful getaway; peaceful quiet woods, lush greenery, ample space for the whole family and a hot tub to take a relaxing soak. The house is located up the Northwoods hill, so bike riding isn’t ideal for small children. We enjoyed easy access to the HOA pool for $17 per person, we made a stop at the nearby Z Market for a forgotten item, and we ventured out to Donner Lake, Truckee River, Martis Creek and downtown for some daily adventures. There were some pesky mosquitos outdoors, but we anticipated that and were prepared with some bug repellent for our legs and arms. It was hot the week we visited, the house does not have A/C, but the woods cool off enough at night if you open up the windows to let the air flow. The house supplies an abundance of ceiling, standing and window fans that work perfectly. There is a ping pong table in the garage that our kids very much enjoyed. Thanks for a great stay!

What a stunning home!

This is an absolutely amazing place to stay. Easily accessible by well-plowed roads, we were charmed by absolutely everything in this warm and welcoming home. The master suite features a luxurious jacuzzi tub and marble shower. (Just be aware that the room overlooks the great room. It does feature sliding barn doors to cover the balcony-like opening, but if you are the first to bed, or the last to awaken, you will hear noise from downstairs. For us, it was absolutely not a problem.) We were three couples, and everyone had plenty of personal space, loved their rooms and baths. The great room is outstanding, with huge ceilings to admire the snow outdoors, a cozy fireplace, plenty of room for dining, cooking, relaxing. We loved the outdoor gas fire table for evening gatherings (s'mores!), and the hot tub was excellent after a day of skiing. The Tahoe Donner x-country resort is nearby (actually walkable from the house) and the downhill resort is a short drive. The Lodge, also nearby, is a great place for dinner and/or drinks, and the town of Truckee offers lovely shops, food and drink options, and all the major chains for food, pharmacy, etc. we were there in winter but it looks like there are lots of nearby hiking trails, it would be lovely in summer as well. We fell in love with this home, wish we could live here forever!

All expectations met

Our family of five needed all of the features this home's photos and description advertised. Everyone of our expectations was met. The wood-burning stove and ample supply of wood, the new jacuzzi, the comfortable beds, the fully-stocked kitchen, fun and interesting artwork, and beautiful views in every space all contributed to the coziness and function of a fantastic vacation home. We were only able to stay 3 nights, but in the middle of all the stress, it was a blessing that gave us space and facilities to rest and refresh.

Very nice home

This home was great for two families with teenagers. There is one master down and one up. The secondary bedrooms are upstairs and share a bath. The beds were very comfortable. Kitchen very well stocked. Plenty of bath and beach towels. In addition, there are plenty of movies, games and books, hot tub and fire pit. I would recommend Donner Lake, Sand Harbor & King's Beach. Be sure to get there early (and for Sand Harbor an hour before they open) if you want to secure parking and rent any paddle boards, etc. There are a few reasons I am giving the property a “4” instead if a “5”. -there is some deferred maintenance at the home like leaking under the kitchen sink (which we reported twice and were told to “put a bowl under it” but it's obviously been going on for quite sometime) and paint peeling from exterior of home. Also book shelves and end tables holding the books really need to be cleared of dust. -the description of the property lead me to believe that we could use the HOA facilities but visitors should know there is a charge of $16/person for your 90 minute allotted time frame, which you must reserve in advance. Only four guests are allowed to reserve so advertising the “access” to the facilities should not be the sole reason you choose this property since it gets costly for a party of 7 to “access the facilities”.

Wonderful Escape

Being able to take my family away from San Francisco after the SIP order was wonderful, staying in such a charming and beautiful place made it amazing. The house itself is deceptively spacious as we were able to spread out and not be on top of one another. The grass in the yard was loved by my two kids while the hot tub and outdoor fireplace was enjoyed by my wife and I. The kitchen is also amazing and has every tool that you will need. Was very happy to find a KitchenAid mixer as I was baking a cake for me wife's birthday and it saved my wrist from a lot of manual whisking. The Tahoe Donner area is fantastic, only wish we were able to enjoy the HOA facilities a bit more but since the Tahoe area just lifted the SIP order the day before we arrived I think things still hadn't opened completely.

Perfect getaway dream home

Fantastic home, very clean, great location, and can't wait to go back! Particularly enjoyed the hot tub after skiing and throwing meat on the grill. The wood fired heater created a perfect ambiance. All the tech you could want including solid WiFi (named The Angry Squirrel!) and a high end entertainment center. The place was professionally managed and it was a smooth process getting in and out. Highly recommend staying here!

Splendid Mountain retreat

This is a beautiful home, with its huge glass windowed great room, full of sunlight overlooking the grounds and hot tub under the stars. Each room is spacious and beautifully decorated, classic, plushy with a modern twist on rustic. The kitchen is well stocked with everything you need, and no expense has been spared in the linens, and bedding too. Spacious, and meticulously clean, this gorgeous mountain retreat offers a sanctuary that is private and quiet and yet near to trails, ski resort and a small shopping center.
