great getaway stay
The property is tucked away in a quiet small rural village.
and was very well equipped, it had everything we needed and is wonderfully presented.
It is ideal for a couple or small family who want to do a bit of sight seeing, walking, cycling or just relaxing.
We especially liked the verandah, which has outstanding views across the valley to the fields and woods opposite. The verandah has a wind out canopy so you can still eat alfresco when the weather is not that good, we eat and drank outside every night, wonderful. It also has a small enclosed garden with a barbecue, ideal for dogs or children and of course basking in the sun.
The village is full of old farmsteads and exceptionally quiet, I think we only heard 10 cars in the 4 days we were there. There is no shop or bar in the village, the supermarket is about 7 miles away the bar/restaurant about 3.
There is plenty of places to visit and some lovely walks nearby.
Laurent the host was exceptionally helpful and very friendly, the property being a credit to him.
Parking is a bit tight for a larger vehicle, we had a Renault Captur which was fine, but not an issue. The 2nd bedroom is directly off the main bedroom which seems quite normal in Europe, but again wasn't an issue. One thing to note the glass recycling centre is difficult to find being on the edge of the village (turn left from the gite and is down the end of the narrow lane).
All in all it is a marvellous place to stay, I would definitely go back.
