" Captain Pips is a perfect for us sort of place. If you are fine with what you see in the pictures, it should be good for you, too. The beds are comfortable, it has plenty of space and the shower is good. The staff is a laid-back sort of nice. There were no bad smells in the room and it was clean. We ate in the room most nights and it was enjoyable. We used the complimentary kayaks and it was enjoyable. If we had thought things out a bit more, we would have taken the complimentary bikes to 7 mile bridge, which is close. Also did the sunset snorkel cruise, which is NOT complimentary (of course) but is definitely worth the money. We hope to go back soon! (husband, wife, teenage son)"

"Pool was good, the tiki bar had pricey but good food, drinks very inconsistent, free breakfast was not good or consistent. We did not get the room we thought we were getting to cook onsite."

"Stayed for 5 nights friends. The house boat we stayed in was new . Plenty of room for the three of us. Great for a small family. The office was very friendly. Such a fun alternative to a hotel room. We can’t wait to book again next year. "

"Absolutely excellent. Our second time visiting. Very family friendly operation. Rooms are very clean with cooking utensils to cook meals instead of eating out every night. We plan on returning again. "

"It wasn’t all bad but the place lacked comfort. The only comfortable chairs were on the deck. The futon in the main area was uncomfortable and worn, the beds were metal legs with a wood base with a mattress on it, very uncomfortable. The houseboats were parked right up next to each other and our bedroom was right by someone else’s deck. They were night owls and stayed up until at least 2 am talking. There were three loud a/c units on the houseboat that frequently cycled on and off and when the bedroom one was on, it would drown out their voices but when it was off, which was often, you could clearly hear them even though they were talking in normal tones. I tried changing it to fan only but it got too warm and I settled for turning it as cold as I could stand it so it ran a little bit more. Needless to say I got very little sleep. The houseboat we were in was on the public access channel so there were frequently boats going by while you were sitting on your deck, close enough to slap a high five if you wanted. The houseboat is close to the dock but be aware it goes up and down with the tide, if you have mobility issues you could be making a fairly significant step up or down depending on the time of day. There is also construction going on next door so it’s kind of a mess. We did see Key deer, pelicans, Ibis, and other wildlife which was cool. The place was clean and had good water pressure. If you stay here go to No Name Pub nearby, it’s a cool place."

"Our vacation was planned around just staying at the resort enjoying the pool. The bar restaurant all of that men are expectation. The room is clean. Staff was very pleasant was happy with our room nice view of the ocean. The one thing I noticed is that they seem to be a musty smell in the rooms, but I also know that with the carpets in the hallway and it is on the water that could contribute. Overall, our experience was very good."
