"Cottage is ideally located, warm comfortable and cosy. Loads of empty beaches. The area is stunning. Harlech castle, Snowdonia, Portmeirion etc all within a few minutes drive We had a lovely week and were lucky with the weather for the time of year. Views across the estuary are outstanding. Had a minor plumbing issue which was rectified within 2 hours so first class communication and service. To be picky the cottage could use a lick of paint and a spruce up, especially the pots & pans but...

"Hotel is in a good location, ample parking. It's a stately building fairly well maintained, though the elevator access on floor 1 is hindered by the carpeting that restricts the door from opening. Yes you have to manually open the door to access the 50 + year old elevator and make sure it doesnt swallow any body part when the door closes, very cool. The food in the attached restaurant/ pub was good, though the service was hindered by only 1 person doing everything, hotel check in and restaurant...

"I really enjoyed my one night stay at Y Pengwern. The bar was friendly when we checked in, and when I was shown my room was amazed at how big it was. I was backpacking and there was plenty of room to reorganise my kit, and the bed was large and very comfortable. After a long day's walk we were looking forward to food, and were very happy with the big hearty meals we had in the restaurant. Breakfast was continental (although you could pay to have a cooked breakfast) but the continental on...
