About this property
Lake Cabin Resort - Cabin 1
The Lake Cabins Resort provides a rustic getaway with modern amenities for your hiking, biking or boating vacation. The resort accommodations include the Lake House and 6 log cabins. along with complimentary use of our kayaks and paddle boards. Our resort has 100 ft of private beachfront along all sport, 617 acre Fife Lake, which is known for its great fishing and water sports. A short drive to Traverse City, Kalkaska and Cadillac put Fife Lake in the center of it all, with the Boardman River to the north and the Manistee River to the south. Whether you are looking for a getaway for 2, or a place to host a large gathering, The Lake Cabins Resort has something to fit your needs.
The resort was built in the early 40’s and has lots of local history with the people and families that have enjoyed the resort in years past. We have restored the full log cabins with new kitchens and many upgrades that make for a great vacation spot. Fife Lake was voted best inland lake in northern Michigan in 2014.
Our pristine beach is a great place to relax and soak up some sun. You can feel comfortable with the kids swimming off our beach as the water is shallow to the end of our dock. Boat rentals are available should you wish to tour the lake and find the eagles nests or loon’s nests. Beach area is closed the last weekend in September. Docks are removed for the winter.
Cabin 1 has 2 bedrooms and 2 futons that make out to double beds. Approximately 500 square feet. Sleeps 6 comfortably 8 if children are smaller. Also, this cabin has a great lake view from the living room window.

This is our second time in cabin 1 and our family really loved it. Beautiful view of the lake with access to kayaking. We really enjoy the outdoor area with firepits. It is a rustic cabin with a small bathroom but the cabin is always very clean.
We stayed in cabin 1 and it was perfect! The owners were so nice. Only a half hour from Traverse City. The cabin was cute and rustic. It had a fully equipped kitchen and charcoal grills outside. Perfect views of the lake and each cabin had their own firepit. We will be going back!
We loved staying here! The cabins were clean and also had extra blankets, towels, toilet paper, etc. The kitchen had the basic necessities that you would want or need for camping. The lake is perfect for your kids as it is shallow and kind of blocked off by the docks and boat hoists. The kayaks were a fun addition to use as well. The owner, Becky, was so sweet and kind! She was so helpful and wanted to make sure we had the best time ever! We highly recommend staying here! We definitely will be back!
Overall the cabin was good. It was a little small. It is advertised due 8 people, but it works have been very cramped. We had two adults and three children ages 8, 10,&12.The Beach area was ok and the kayaks and paddle boards could use some TLC. Other than that, it was a good experience.
This our third year staying here, and as long as we continue to vacation in NE lower Michigan we'll keep coming back.
The cabins are very well kept up, clean, with modern appliances, and Wifi. Bathroom is roomy with more than enough hot water for our family of four.
If you look on Google maps it appears as if the Lake Cabins Resort is wedged in with houses on all sides. Strictly speaking the neighboring houses are close, but the area is quiet and the cabins are laid out spaciously and enclosed in foliage so that you never feel claustrophobic.
Fife Lake is beautiful. Firewood is always available and each cabin has a firepit. Our kids, 20 & 23, were perfectly content to watch the sunset, and then sit around the campfire.
Kayaks are available at the beach area, although it isn't a "beach" so much as it is a swim area. Parents with young children will appreciate the shallow water and sandy play area where they can easily keep an eye on their little ones.
The village of Fife Lake is far enough off the beaten track that you're not elbow to elbow with other tourists. Yet it's close enough to Traverse City that you can easily drive anywhere from Sleeping Bear to Petoskey in less than an hour.
The hosts, Jeff and Becky, are wonderful. If you have any problem at all they'll get it taken care of immediately.
This is our second year staying here and we love it! The hosts are SO kind, helpful, and welcoming! Our kids love the spacious yard and the fun beach and lake! Be sure to go crawdad fishing at night… it is so entertaining! We highly recommend staying here and will definitely be back!
The whole property is so welcoming!! cabin was so cute and clean. Beckey and Jeff were the best host, The lake is beautiful had fun on the kayaks and sitting by the lake. The little town was so cute and friendly! Will definitely be back Thank You for such a fun little get away
This is our third year staying in cabin 1 and we still love it. The cabin is rustic but clean. The lake, firepit and kayaks are what we come back for each year. The location is very relaxing with excellent customer service.
The view from the cabin was breathtaking. The cabin was clean and stocked well. The owners were extremely nice and helpful! The kids loved the beach area and the kayaks. We will definitely be coming back to this cabin if we come back to Fife Lake!
Jeff was incredibly accommodating and very responsive to all our questions. We felt like family there and are ready to plan our next trip to Lake Cabins!
We stayed in Cabin 1 which had a greatvriw of the lake. It was very clean and organized. They were very friendly and helpful. We all took the kayaks out on the lake and had a great t8me. Definitely will stay there again.
Great little cabin right on the water. Small town, but exactly what we were looking for. We did Traverse City and Sleeping Bear Dunes and this cabin was a great loctaion to both of those. We traveled with a little one who stayed in a pack n play and it just fit in one of the bedrooms. Kayaks were a huge plus and we even caught fish from the dock and kayak. Sand toys were also appreciated. Would definitely consider returning.
My family had a great time staying here!!! We kayaked, paddle boarded rented a pontoon boat and even did some swimming ( even though our luck preceeded us and it was only like 70 degrees after being in the 90s for like the last 4 weeks prior:/). We had a campfire every night!! Really good time unplugged!!!! We will be back next summer (just a little sooner in the season ) !! Jeff ( the prpoery manager/? owner) was awesome to work with!!!
Jeff and Beckey's property was perfect for our family reunion. We rented the house and all of the cabins and each family had their own space - it was perfect. The house and cabins have everything you need and everything was spotless! We spent lots of time swimming in the lake, kayaking, and paddle boarding. The little kids had fun playing in the beach and shallow water area. The outside area around the cabins was perfect for eating meals together, outdoor movie night, 80's night, and talking around the fire pit. We ventured into Traverse City and visited the Sleeping Bear Dunes national park. We highly recommend this property!
We rented several cabins for an extended family vacation. The cabins and property is equipped with everything one needs to enjoy their stay. It’s beautifully kept and the owners are attentive and overall great people! Having the beach, kayaks, and paddle boards assures there is no need to venture elsewhere. But if one is inclined It’s close enough to Sleeping Bear Sand Dunes and Traverse City. We had an amazing trip and can’t wait to book again for next summer!
We stayed in cabin 1 and absolutely loved the view! The fire pit place was wonderful with open grass in front for our kids to play. Chairs were cozy and over looking the water. It was so relaxing! We enjoyed everything about our stay including the kayaks! Owners are super friendly and responsive! We can’t wait to be back!
I rented 4 cabins, #s 1, 6, 3 and 5. The beds were too soft but clean. Bathrooms in 1 and 6 were good. bathrooms in 3 and 5 are step down and smaller. AC/heat, overhead fan in 6 worked well. all appliances worked well. kayaks were fun as was the rental pantoon .Plenty of clean towels, plates etc. in 6. beautiful view of lake. The house on the lake looks good. 30 minute drive to Traverse City, and hour plus to Empire for Sand Dunes. We had a great time.

Had a great time staying here! The cabins are cute and just as described. Loved being on the lake and having free access to the kayaks. Also was convenient for my group to travel to Traverse City for wine tastings. Would stay again!
