I have given the Gran Hotel Reymar 5 stars for rooms, service and location and if I could have given 6 stars I would have. The staff were excellent (happy, attentive and very helpful), the rooms were clean, tidy and well maintained as were all of the public areas. Sitting atop a rocky outcrop you get stunning views of the castle and old town as the sun goes down. Perfect! Oh, and the secure private underground car parking is a very welcomed addition.

Hidden Gem

Tossa de Mar was a fantastic place. We really enjoyed the village with the castle. Very relaxing - if that is what you are looking for. Hotel Reymar we judged was one of the nicer hotels in the village - the pool was great, and access to the "smaller" beach was just a few steps away. We even got up early to watch the sunrise on the rocks by the beach. We would definitely book this again!

For USD 130, it was worth the stay based on location of the stunning views. Breakfast was included in the cost. The beach was across the street. Various restaurants within walking distance. The hotel itself was ok. The staff was not very friendly...they act like they put up with the swarm to tourists. Although the room was super clean, the bed was European, hard as a rock. Room was minimalist -- cold feeling. Breakfast variety and quality was ok. The breakfast room overlooked the sea which soothing each morning. Overall, there was no wow-factor with the hotel itself. The only thing going for it is location and the view. Would not pay no more than USD 130/night.

A waste of time and money, review may be anomalous compared to current reviews, but those set our expectations. Poorly run and low quality breakfast. Somewhat inconsistent friendliness of foh staff, some were wonderful and helpful, some were cold/ rude, feels a bit like a holiday farm, busy and boring, maybe we're not the target customers, or maybe we've been spoiled by previous holiday experiences.

The place is beautiful! The food is great. The beach is gorgeous, clear water great for snorkeling. Be aware that the sand on the beach is rough, I advise water shoes, also bring your own beach towels and maybe portable beach chairs, you need to rent chairs at the beach for 8 euro each. Otherwise great place, safe and clean.
