In a peaceful rural hamlet near the Boutonne River, "Gué de Champagné" welcomes you for a relaxing stay. Just 10 minutes from St Jean d'Angély, ideally located between La Rochelle and Cognac (both 50 minutes away), it’s perfect for exploring Charente-Maritime!



A former wine storehouse, adjoining the owner’s house, has been converted into a 3-star rural gîte with all modern comforts. The two spacious bedrooms are upstairs, where you’ll also find a second toilet. From the terrace and the small unfenced garden, enjoy birdsong in this wooded, bucolic setting—an LPO bird sanctuary. Only one small pet is allowed. Please note, cats roam the property. An optional cleaning service is available on request for an extra fee.



Love walking or cycling? Reach the Boutonne (400 m away) for scenic trails along the river. Depending on the season, you might spot white storks nesting just 300 m from the gîte.



In the heart of Vals de Saintonge, heritage lovers will be delighted: historic center of St Jean d’Angély with its royal abbey, castles, Romanesque churches, museums, charming villages.
