It is located directly on the East Coast Hiking Trail which is one of the most sought after hiking trails in Canada. It overlooks the picturesque islands of the Witless Bay Ecological Reserve. The panoramic oceanfront views of majestic humpback whales, dolphins, eagles, sea otters & puffins make every day a special experience. Great Oceanfront Retreat

Everything was great! The house has the best view of the ocean. Within 30 minutes of arriving we saw Humpback whales swimming in the bay. The kitchen was well stocked with everything we needed. The bathroom was beautiful and had plenty of towels.

We spent 3 nights at this property. It has amazing grounds and incredible views. Great open concept kitchen and living area with a constant view of the water! The cabin is well appointed and had everything we needed. We really loved being able to roll out the door and be right at the ECT. Frank the host was super responsive as well. 10/10 for us for sure! We hope to come again.

The property is absolutely beautiful, as advertised, and the house is lovely, as shown in the pictures. We ended up changing our plans and spent time just enjoying the area instead of heading off to “tourist attractions” every day. I highly recommend visitors pin the location (as provided) for navigation, and be sure to download the map of the area first (cell coverage can be spotty in Newfoundland).

Great location and beautiful house. We watched whales and thousands of puffins from the deck every day. The section of East Coast trail than runs behind the house is excellent. Short drive to St. Johns. House was very clean. Strangely there are no electrical outlets in the bathroom. Would highly recommend.

Perfect location!

This place is amazing! The view from the deck is incomparable, the house is lovely, with all the rooms on one level and completely accessible. There are lovely walking trails nearby, but it's just as enticing to sit in one of the Adirondack chairs on the deck and read and soak up the sun. A perfect getaway spot.

Great Oceanfront Property

Fantastic location right on the ocean. Spectacular views! We saw Bluefin Tuna jumping in the bay just off the rocks. Nice cottage-like feel but with a fully upgraded and modern kitchen. Would book this place again for exploring St. John’s to Portuguese Cove

Amazing seaside retreat

Beautiful place, the photos don’t do it justice. We loved exploring the grounds and walking the sections of the East Coast Trail. Perfect location to make trips into St John’s and explore the Avalon Coast. The best part was the watching the ocean, we had daily sightings of tuna breaching and sea lions. Would return in a heartbeat.

This house is amazing! Tucked away in a secluded part of town, when you’re there you feel like you have the ocean to yourself. The grounds are huge and the views are fantastic. Modern kitchen with all the appliances, dishes, etc that you could need. Property is clean and owners were great to deal with. We’d definitely return.

We just loved this home and the location, the views!!! The views from this home are absolutely spectacular in any weather conditions. The house is beautiful with everything you could possibly need or want and was very clean. I loved the area, a lot to take in and do. We just had the best time, completely recommend and hoping to be able to return.

I will never forget the view

This place has the most unbelievable views of the ocean and landscape. It was very comfortable for my family; a wonderful place to be no matter what the weather. We saw whales from the living room, and my daughters took a short walk and saw seals. The owners were incredibly kind and accommodating, as well as quick to answer our questions. I would stay here again in a heartbeat.

The house itself was beautiful - exposed wood, huge windows, and every amenity you could ask for. But best of all were the surroundings you could see from those windows: the ocean was right outside, as were the woods and walking trails. The view from the house was spectacular, and at night we all gazed for hours at the moonlight sparkling on the ocean.

Tors Cove July 2023

Beautiful location right on the Atlantic Ocean and offers expansive views. Great hikes start at the end of the driveway. Convenient to other scenic locations in Avalon. Generally, the House was beautiful and had everything we needed but could use a little TLC.

Beautiful home and property

The property and home were wonderful and the views are gorgeous. The only issue we had was with the address. If you put it into GPS it will take you to another town. The property owner helped straighten things out, but I would suggest correcting the address to Back road, Tors Cove.

Its hard to put into words how stunning this property is. The views of the ocean, the well maintained grounds, the tastefully decorated house, the overall welcoming and peaceful vibe - we were blown away. Not to mention the location - just steps from the East Coast Trail and nestled in one of the provinces most beautiful areas. So much to do and see. And make sure to get up early to catch the magnificent sunrise! Our hosts were amazing and went out of their way to make our stay enjoyable. We will definitely return. If you are looking to make your trip to Newfoundland even more magical, you must stay here. Five stars all around.
