By day it's just another narrow alleyway common in Tokyo, but at night the street turns into a mini nightlife area for the salarymen of Tokyo. With numerous tiny #bar lining up, the nickname comes from the fact in the past so many drunk salarymen doing their "bussiness" there because there's no toilet anywhere in this alleyway. Today, regulation has been set in the area so it is a lot cleaner than before. The alleyway is very narrow and can only fit at maximum 2 people at a time so be mindful of your surrounding when visiting especially when there's many drunk people walking by from the bars. The bars are also very tiny and can only fit less than 10 people at a time. If you are not claustrophobic give them a try, it's a special experience on its own :)

Overall, we had a very satisfying stay at Kadoya Hotel. The front desk staff were consistently welcoming and helpful. The location is extremely convenient—just a short walk from the west side of Shinjuku Station, with easy access to both JR lines and multiple subway routes. Despite being so close to the busy station area, the neighborhood feels very safe, surrounded by upscale office buildings and the Tokyo Metropolitan Government offices. Our Standard Universal Room with two twin beds was reasonably spacious, especially compared to other hotels we stayed at in Tokyo and Osaka. Breakfast at the café offers a limited selection, but the food is delicious and the staff are always courteous.

Good location near Shinjuku station without being right in the middle of the chaos. Plenty of shopping and dining options nearby. Friendly staff, luggage storage and spacious room. The station is so big it takes a while to walk to the areas on the other side, convenient location to get around Tokyo but not the nicest area for walking around.

Great location and great staff

The staff was very attentive and tried their best to fulfill my need/request. I stayed in a single comfort room and it seemed the TV was too big for the room. The location was excellent! There are many good restaurants around and big department stores.

Myself and my daughter were staying here. We already enjoyed the hotel. The staff was very accommodating and pleasant.
