"The large, very well equipped kitchen, table big enough for 8-10 people, and comfortable great room with huge TV. Comfy bedrooms, ALL with great views of the lake. Great fishing, right from the dock! And very responsive owners. We really enjoyed our stay. Warning: the driveway down to the house is steep and there are 56 steps down to the water. But that adds to the fun!"

After visiting the NC Zoo, this was a perfect location to extend our family fun with great water views and plenty of outdoor and indoor amenities. "My family stayed at The Farmhouse Retreat for freshman orientation weekend at HPU. The house was perfectly clean, the beds were comfortable, and the decor was beautiful. The house is updated but the original charm is still intact. The location is very convenient especially if you are in town visiting HPU. We didn’t cook but the kitchen seemed to be well stocked. Check in was seamless and the host’s communication was excellent. We will definitely stay here again."

The property was perfect for us--a 10 minute drive from the venue, but in an established, safe neighborhood surrounded by beautiful trees and plentiful walking paths. It is walkable to great local restaurants and coffee shops, and a short drive to great shopping, dining, grocery stores (Trader Joe's, Whole Foods, etc.). Highly recommend. We'll definitely be back!!"
