Formerly a stable, the cottage now provides an extremely comfortable base from which to explore the surrounding area. This cosy accommodation is perfect for a couple or a small family, sleeping up to four guests.
Thirsk is a delightful market town, renowned for its connections with the famous vet and author Alf Wight, and the James Herriot museum, which covers the life and books of the author, displaying sets from the television series ‘All Creatures Great and Small’. The cobbled square is surrounded by numerous tea rooms, independent shops and street markets. The town boasts a 15th-century church and a renowned racecourse. Located between the stunning North Yorkshire Moors and the beautiful Yorkshire Dales, visitors can choose from numerous attractions including Fountains Abbey, Newby Hall and Castle Howard. There are abbey ruins at Rievaulx and Byland, and theme parks at Flamingo Land and Lightwater Valley provide fun for all the family. The ancient city of York is easily accessible and fascinates all ages, with exquisite architecture, iconic minster, museums, art galleries, festivals and river boat trips.
