Naturschutzgebiet „See am Goldberg“ in Heusenstamm – Im dicht bevölkerten Rhein-Main-Gebiet sind natürliche Lebensräume für einheimische Tiere oft nur noch in geringer Anzahl und Größe vertreten. Das Naturschutzgebiet See am Goldberg liegt in einem Waldgebiet zwischen den Städten Heusenstamm und Obertshausen im Stadtgebiet von Heusenstamm. Besonders für Wasservögel wie den Haubentaucher, das Blässhuhn und den Höckerschwan bietet dieses eingezäunte Schutzgebiet eine sichere Ruhezone. Ein Luxus, der auch gerne regelmäßig von diversen Zugvögeln genutzt wird.
Naturschutzgebiet „Nachtweide von Patershausen“ in Heusenstamm, Bereich nördlich vom Hofgut (Gebäude am linken Bildrand) – Als Nachtweide, auch Upstall, wurde früher ein eingegrenztes Feldstück bezeichnet, denjenigen Zugtieren zum nächtlichen Weiden vorbehalten, die tagsüber für die Landwirtschaft genutzt wurden. Die Nachtweide von Patershausen, diente einst vermutlich genau diesem Zweck. Heute ist sie ein 17,77 Hektar großes Naturschutzgebiet südlich der Stadt Heusenstamm. Auf den ersten Blick wirkt dieser grüne Fleck im Herzen des Heusenstammer Waldes unscheinbar, doch birgt er mit vereinzelten Sumpfgebieten seltene Fauna in Form einer großen Population des vom Aussterben bedrohten Laubfrosches und zugleich Nährboden für den in dieser Region einzigartigen Magerrasen. Das historische Hofgut von Patershausen (zu sehen im linken Bildrand), geht auf eine Klostergründung der Benediktiner zurück, die wahrscheinlich im Jahr 806 erfolgte. Gegenwärtig fungiert das Hofgut als Bio-Hofladen und ist zugleich durch seine naturreiche Umgebung ein beliebtes Familienausflugsziel der Rhein-Main-Region.
