The Schoolhouse Cabin - Hot Tub and Game Room!

A charming getaway near the lake and woods of Lake Bloomington in Central, IL. Originally built as a schoolhouse one hundred years ago, this cabin has character and unique features for days! The comfortable and eye catching furnishings and decor, along with great amenities, big and small, you’ll find the Schoolhouse cabin to be just what you need for a relaxing getaway.

The space
The Schoolhouse Cabin is a perfect mesh of rustic and luxury. Located at the start of the scenic loop road on the south side of the lake, the water is a 2 minute walk in multiple directions! The cabin is a historic schoolhouse with multiple charming features including a spiral staircase, wood burning stove, original brick entry way floor, sunken dining room, and loft style upstairs! The yard has multiple gathering spaces including a brick deck with grill, dining area, conversation/lounge area, fire pit and an outdoor daybed to relax under the trees.
The oversized two car garage has been made into a game room! Game room has ping pong, air hockey, foosball, double basketball, tons of board and table games games, crochet, bocce ball, ladder ball, bags, ring toss, lawn darts, spike ball, a small kiddie area with little toys, and a sprinkler for your use! Hot tub seats 8 people and is available year round. Guests must follow hot tub rules.

Kitchen is fully stocked with everything you’ll need to cook like pots, pans, bakeware, cutting boards, etc, as well as salt, pepper, oil, flour and sugar. We will also provide coffee and tea!
House rules must be followed.
Guest access
Guests will have access to all spaces on the property except the shed, where we keep yard care equipment.
Other things to note
The property is not wheel chair accessible and not recommended for toddlers or anyone that has trouble with a few steps.
There are steps to the main door, a small step up to the living room, and steps down to the dining and main floor bedroom.
Additionally, the spiral stair case is not suitable for very small children as the hand rails are wide enough to fit through! Please be aware that by booking, you waive any liability on the owners for tripping on steps.
Keep in mind, we are by a lake and woods! There will be wildlife and bugs! We try our best to keep all bugs outside the home, but given our location, some do creep in! Also, you will see deer more than likely. Please be careful driving, especially at night, and don’t scare them away if/when they come into our yard!
