"We turned up at the hotel for a 3nights extended bank holidays weekend just to find out that the hotel was privatised and fully booked with nowhere to sleep in town or in the neighbouring villages !!! Owner refused to speak to Hotels.com since apparently he has only signed a contract with Expedia (but didnā€™t acknowledge it was the same company!) and refused to speak English... Hotels.com was not able to sort it out not find anywhere else and we had to drive back home 3hrs in the other direction...

When is the best time to go to Tharot?
The best time to visit Tharot is during the late spring (May to June) or early autumn (September to October) when the weather is pleasant and the region's natural beauty is at its peak.

Late spring offers mild temperatures, superb for exploring the Burgundy countryside and its renowned vineyards. The landscape is lush and green, and many local festivals celebrating wine and local produce begin around this time. It's an excellent period for couples looking for scenic drives and comfortable outdoor activities like cycling or walking along the canals.

Early autumn provides a different but equally rewarding experience. The weather remains agreeable, and the vineyards are alive with the grape harvest, offering a unique insight into the winemaking process. The changing colours of the leaves create stunning views, making it ideal for those who appreciate picturesque scenery and culinary exploration.
