"The place is beautiful, in a great location, private and secluded, with nice amenities such as hot tubs, pool, wood BBQ. It looks just like the pictures and overall, we enjoyed our stay. But, - very limited hot water. Takes long to warm up and then only lasts 5 minutes. Not enough for 2 showers. We could only fill the amazing bath up a few inches before it got cold, so kind of useless. - lots of ants, and when we complained, we were told to deal with it ourselves - there was a birds nest...

"Pros: We were upgraded to a three bedroom apartment in the same block. The apartment is very spacious with an attractive terrace and fabulous view of Pico island. It is very tastefully furnished with antiques which have been lovingly restored. Dora was very kind and communication with her was excellent. She left us a lovely welcome hamper of local food. "Great hotel and the room had a great view. The hotel and room were very clean. The pool facilities were nice and well kept. The hotel staff were very helpful at finding us a cab when our arranged cab didn't show up and we were struggling to find anyone due to the holiday on the island. Note that the hotel is on the south side of Madalena and it was about a 20 minute walk to the harbor/main area of town."
