Waterfront, dock, bring your boat

"We had a wonderful time at this 2 bedroom cabin located steps away from the lake. The cabin was clean and cozy and the kitchen had everything we needed including spices. It does not have a stove but offers a smoker and a grill. The beds were comfortable and had extra blankets which came in handy as we had a few chilly nights. The main reason we chose this rental was that it offered a dock so we could bring up our boat. A few things to note is that trailer parking is across the street which can be busy at times. Also, the dock is located next to a sandy beach which has filled in a bit but you can still dock using the end cleat. The lake may have been low as we came at the end of the season. We also enjoyed the use of the 2 kayaks and floats for swimming. Beside spending time on the lake, we enjoyed hiking up to Goose pond and walking the bank of the Pemi and Smith rivers. Thanks for sharing this gem of a cabin with us!"

"The house was very nice-we thought it was prettier and larger than we expected based on the pictures. It was very convenient to shopping and some restaurants. There is a gas station/convenience store near the entrance which is great to pick up odds and ends. The setting is beautiful. There were some things we didn't like beyond that it was very nice. The roads getting to the home are very bumpy. The road that the host tells you not to take is washed out in a number of areas and even with our Jeep it was extremely bumpy. The road she suggests takes longer to get to the home, but it is still very bumpy in areas. I wouldn't recommend this location if you have someone with a bad back or who can't take being jostled in the car. The trash situation was somewhat challenging for us to figure out. We had 5 people staying for 6 nights along with more folks over for a family dinner one night (we accumulated some trash). You had to separate cans, plastic, trash and there were not trash cans outside of the home to store the trash. If you didn't sort correctly you could be fined 75 (probably not an issue if you are staying for only a few days). The main floor bathroom needs a lock installed on it. For those with electric/hybrid vehicles, there was a charging station. The charging fees were high enough that it didn't make sense to charge our hybrid jeep-it was cheaper to buy the gas. They would not let us use our own plug in slow charge charger."

"The condo was just as described. Very quiet over Labor Day weekend. Plenty of wooded space to walk our dog. Great bunk room upstairs (open to the living room just an FYI). Plenty of room for 4 adults and 2 little kiddos."
