The property is really lovely and in a great location. Lovely tasteful decor. It felt very homely, and lots of space. My only negative is that it could have been a little cleaner. I appreciate that this is a pet friendly cottage, but I noticed a lot of dog hair on the rug in the front room and floor. Also, the seat cushions on the dining chairs were covered in crumbs, and the tea towels provided, although they looked clean, had an awful smell of stale milk. A real shame, and sadly this has put me off from staying again.

The property was well located, but smelt terribly of damp. It was also not very clean- the toilet was dirty when we arrived. Also, in other places, the hosts typically leave supplies to enable a cup of tea/ coffee (with milk in the fridge). This property/ care of guests seemed very basic. Wouldn't return to that particular property.
Lovely cottage, would absolutely stay again. Driving to the cottage is not for the faint-hearted, the roads leading directly to it are steep and narrow - but that wasn't a problem for us. The parking is about 6 minutes' walk away, it felt like a lot more when we drove from the house to the car park, but it was actually absolutely fine. Definitely better unload at the house first though! The cottage itself is delightful - clean, well appointed, cosy. The beds and pillows were comfortable, the bedding was soft and clean. Honeslty the only improvement I can think of is the towels: mine was a bit musty so I was glad to have brought my own. Other than that, we can't wait to come back for a longer stay!
Newly refurbished cottage with everything we could need.

Cosy cottage
Despite the cottage not having a sea view, its well worth considering for a stay. Well appointed but couldn't find a tea pot!! Home from home really. Great beds and efficient heating system. Stairs need care, especially if you are elderly. Bit of a walk to the private car park, which really is essential as parking is poor in Shaldon. I did have to call the company just before 4 pm on arrival to get the key code no. Then received 3 text messages!!
I am so pleased that we booked this cottage for the Easter weekend. It has been beautifully renovated and is very cosy and comfortable...everything you need for quiet, relaxing weekend away.
Location wise it was great, close to all amenities, cafes etc. and close to the Botanical Gardens.
The only thing I would say is that if travelling with elderly people, the staircase might be a bit awkward as some of the steps are narrow in places and the handrail is made of rope so isn't as sturdy as a fixed handrail...but don't let that put you off. Just a consideration!
Delightful cottage in the lovely village of Shaldon. The Cottage is perfectly situated close to beach and five local pubs all within easy walking distance. A lovely place to stay.
We had a great long weekend in this cottage, just up fron the green in Shaldon. Excellent weather meant a fantastic time was had, with plenty of cafés, pubs and eating places available despite pandemic restrictions being in place. Enjoyed The London Inn, The Clipper café and The Ness the most.
The cottage had excellent comfy beds, a powerful shower (& bath if required) and a small courtyard which was a bit of a sun trap at various times of the day. Spotlessly clean and a parking space prebooked 5 minutes away this cottage made a great base for Shaldon. Loved it! Hope to return.
Having been to Shaldon before we new about the village. The cottage is very central and comfortable and in a quiet location. The beds are very comfy as well. We took advantage of the added car parking which we fully recommend. Will be booking the cottage again. Fantastic stay. Beautifully renovated cottage.
