The position is great the view from Bure 8 is excellent, the grounds are well kept, the food unfortunately is not the best, 2 eggs nicely cooked on very dry toast for $10 and instant coffee for $3, ordered a fish curry one night small but tasty - you won’t put on any weight with these servings. Last night at last fresh local fish - two prices of fish about the size of my thumb - a half cup of vegetables and some fries for $30 I thought was a bit sad, arrived one day for lunch and was told the kitchen was closed, no previous notice and nowhere else to eat near by. After a heated discussion, we had fried rice with vegetables - couldn’t finish the dish it was so oily. I understand that times are hard after COVID, and I really have made allowances, the people are wonderful the site is great the island is spectacular , but I feel the whole island is pricing itself out of the tourist market. For example the walk to the waterfall in May will rise to $50 per person for a 40 min walk in high humidity and extremely steep track.

The checked in receptionist girl was very helpful. If I’m not mistaken her name was Maliana and the security guy was Kali…. two very kind people that made my stay pleasant. On the other hand the one that checked me out was rude and didn’t really listen to my complaint. Her name was Lavinia. I suggest that you do something about her attitude because its people like her that makes me or guests don’t want to stay at your place. Thanks for the checked in receptionist Maliana and Kali that I wouldn’t mine returning because of their friendly personality. When I first checked in Sept 20-22, I asked who the manager was and Kali pointed out to a guy and I think he said his name was Samu. I was surprised when I checked out and asked to see the manager and the lady said she’s the one and her name was Lavinia. I told her I have a concerned about them not letting my guest come up to my room after leaving a message with Maliana that I will be waiting for my guest which she said Ok . Anyway, the problem could be easily solve if that Lavinia would be more understanding, and listen to the complain from the guest. Anyway, that was the only unpleasant experience I had so I suggest to please talk to Lavinia to treat your customer with listening ears instead of trying to be defensive and think she knows it all. Vina’a va’a levu.

Our stay was amazing. The staff really make you feel like family. The treehouse was perfect for our stay, almost two big for just two of us but the views from the deck were to die for. The property is within walking distance from the beach, food, grocery store and the airport. The breakfast cinnamon toast was our favorite the whole stay.

Highly recommend!
Maravu and its staff is great. Everyone is super friendly and helpful. Rafa, Cali, Solo, Kara, among others, are wonderful. They will take you to the local attractions and show you around themselves. We spent a day with Rafa who took us to the waterfalls. Best hike ever! The hotel is conveniently located by the airport. The burres are clean and comfortable, and the grounds are beautiful. Our kids ran around picking papayas straight off the trees and the wonderful kitchen staff would cut it up for them! Highly recommend.

Staff was wonderful!! We love Kitty and Laisani! This is a great launch point for activities on Taveuni. Amenities werent amazing but the price for the room is spot on. Would come again as we didn’t get a chance to go diving!! Coastal walk is a must do on the island!

The staff is friendly and attentive! Carli's extra activities and explaining about the culture is excellent. The property needs maintenance. For example; the light fixture in the bedroom was broke so, we stared at a light bulb on one side and nice globe on the other (no bedside lamps)The shower head was corroded and sprayed different directions. Bath had a blow dryer but no adapter so you could not plug it in. The decking out front was a little spooky. Glass louvers did not close all the way but, the mini split air con worked well. Something to be aware of...Electricity off between 10:00 A.M. and 4:00 P.M. after 4:00 P.M. the generator starts up and can be heard all night long but, this did not keep us awake. It may be disturbing for those who would like quiet. They are running electric from Somosomo currently.The card activated front door lock battery was low, we guess, and it beeped all night prior to us leaving the next morning. Considering it was a $130.00 USD per night, not to much to ask for these things to have been remedied prior to stay. Good location for walking to dive shop and cafe. Not on the ocean or beach but a pretty nice beach within walking distance. Food was so-so but considering the reasonable prices, cant complain to much. All in all, considering the prices of other resorts nearby, this may be the compromise.

On the surface, my room was great- large, high ceilings, beautiful deck and I had one of the best views on the property....however, I had no working lights in the bathroom bar one in the toilet, the ant population was thriving inside, and there were empty beer bottles that looked like they had been just thrown from the front door and under the porch. base board tiling pulled off in the bathroom and not replaced. There is so much potential in the property, and while I know money is very tight right now, it costs nothing to pick up trash and bottles from around the property and drive way. There was a discarded t shirt on the drive way for the entire time I was there. Come on guys, pick up the trash!

The staff was great! We particularly loved the excursion to Nanuku Island which was the picture of paradise. We stayed at a garden bure for a few nights before staying at a 6-person dorm for a few more. Both had good AC and beds.

Very nice budget accommodation. Staff was helpful and friendly; food was above-average. The only problem we had was that the air conditioning wasn't working in our room (for some reason the cord had been cut) despite being advertised in their Orbitz description. Activity bookings, kava sessions, and a nice pool area made the visit pleasant.

The internet was good being able to get wifi in your buree was awesome, the menu and prices were a let down and the prices of drinks and the fact ya could order a vodka and end up with a kahluha and still expected to pay, they don't do drinks at all well, ordered a orange juice got offered a Fanta, didn't eat there much at all, they had no fish, but yet theres approx. 5 meals with fish ya couldn't have. Overall wouldn't hurt some one to pick up some rubbish cos that was unreal its everywhere.

We loved the location! Maravu is so pretty and right next to the beach! The staff are lovely! We did the tour to the Bouma Waterfalls which was amazing! The food is great! The place is a bit run down and not quite as fancy as the photos. Met many lovely people there!

Amazing value
Great spot. Sevi at the desk is amazing and all the staff are super friendly and helpful. Bed is comfy and rooms were nice and clean. A few things in walking distance (restaurants, coffee shop, dive shop, super market) is also a bonus! Pool is nice and the beach is only about a 5 minute walk across the road.

Very nice value place. The amenities for the price are great and the resort itself does not feel budget at all. The on-site restaurant is great, it’s also close to some other dining options and a super market. The location is fantastic, the pool is great. The grounds are beautiful. The restaurant/bar is not very well stocked. Often out of menu items. Burre was pretty with nice view but a bit Gap toothed. I’m the evenings You WILL encounter a plethora of different insects- moths, mosquitos, spiders, cockroaches, lizards, ants, and an assortment of beetles. Which doesn’t leave you much feeling for comfort or making love.

Has great potential but lacking ambiance and comfort. We had beautiful deck overlooking ocean but no comfortable outdoor furniture to sit or lie on. Nowhere to sit in hotel bed was it. Now food ok for Fiji. But we had a great chef who made incredible meals at Sau bay resort. Nice restraunt across the street on in tavanui lodge a bit more expensive and you need to let them know you are joining them. Now this is Fiji. And down the street to the left on road is also a restraunt that has lobster etc. by dive shops. But if you stay in 35 dollar burrs you will probably be happier for the money. Hopefully they will be more accommodating. They had lots of vacant rooms could have moved furniture for comfort.

It was an oasis. The food was great. The bure was amazing. I would say the only thing is the bar staff. It’s fine just sometimes they aren’t there to serve or service is very slow. Otherwise only good things. Great stay! The front desk lady remembered everyone’s name which was impressive! Splurge for a bure, you won’t regret it. Great day trips organzied by the lodge. The dive coffee shop is right in front where you can get great coffees and rent stand up paddles and other things. The beach is just in front too. The airport is close by but you can’t hear the airplanes too much. The airport is small so that’s not a concern at all. Really cool place.

Maravu is fantastic! I was a solo traveler and stay just over a week. My room was clean, and the food was delightful. The daily tours organized by Rafa made the trip super special. He really went out of his way to make sure I experienced all that is to offer on the island, that I was comfortable, and had a great time. The staff were all so friendly, and it’s a great place to meet fellow travelers. I would suggest bringing enough cash before coming to the island. Most food and guided tours are cash and there is only 1 atm on the entire island. I highly recommend maravu, and am looking forward to my next visit :)

We booked the ocean view room but the trees were stopping the view. If they had been trimmed it would have been fine. The outdoor shower didn’t work. The towels were old. The pillows were uncomfortable. When we ordered food things were missing. Average experience.

l I really enjoyed my stay there; the view from our bungalow was so tranquil, which was a nice balance with the periodic falling mangos onto the roof.  The tree provides fruit and shade so wouldn’t want it to not be there. Staff were genuinely friendly and helpful. Facilities better than I expected. They were perfect for what we wanted/needed.

I really enjoyed staying at Maravu, the staff were warm & friendly, the overall atmosphere was relaxing, and the food was not only absolutely amazing but also great value. There's a lovely white sand beach within a few minutes walk and the singing I heard during the nightly kava sessions blew me away, so beautiful, I would definitely stay again & definitely for longer. The settings are very pleasant but what makes this place so special is the staff who are a real credit to Fijian hospitality & culture. Thank you all for making myself & everyone else feel some welcome.

The room/bure was large and clean. The food at the hotel's restaurant was. It as good as some of the local restaurants but it is cheap. Staff is friendly. We had to ask several times for the hot water to be fixed, but after a day or two we had hot water.

Nice location.Same little improvements,will make our staying more enjoyable. 1) same areas in room, under shelving and under bed,need to be better clean.'(vacum cleaner required- not broom cleaning only). 2)security,external flood light fitted above Bure window - all interior of room,getting to much light in.we have filling that we slipping on busy Sydney road,not in tropical resort. 3)same external lighting need to be better positioned: Lights on stairs (too many shadows), flood light on shed near reception,shining on grass area in front of shed -but not on road.That light is so bright,that is so difficult to see when you walking on road,near by. 4)Boys performing "kava ceremony" - This is anti propaganda of Fiji tradition - we have see this in other places in Fiji - it was much better.This boys just drinking and smoking until all of them "past away".Guest setting and watching them for hours awaiting for songs to start.After all we getting 2-3 songs for all night and songs are on english language!!!Whats with beautiful Fiji songs.??It is OK if this is Fiji way - but guests do not need to watch that for 2-3 hours. 5) On Friday night bar run out of Coca Cola.We can not order Cola for another 2 days!!! on Saturday and Sunday!!!How difficult was to go to local shops and get supply.? We have beed instruct to go and purchased our own drink.? 6) Variety of drinks in bar is bad. 7) TV launch,is fill with of duty staff at most of time - quests can not find spot to set down,or
