Beautiful grounds - pool, outside sitting area and rooftop breakfast location all have spectacular views of the sea. Our "superior" room was in a separate building across the entry courtyard from the main building. The bedroom was on the small side; no view of anything; in lieu of a normal bathtub there was a spa big enough to share with several friends (climbing in and out to shower was a challenge). The room also had a second story bedroom/bath, which had no benefit for the two of us. The hotel is in a quiet location but only a block or two from the principal tourist streets. Valet parking (a must) is 50 Euros/day. All in all, a wonderful place to stay. (Note that to reach the hotel, and the town, from the motorway requires driving up a somewhat steep, narrow winding road - just go slowly if not used to these roads - was only a bit scary when tour busses were headed in the opposite direction!)

The Ashbee is in a great location with regard to the main shopping/dining area in Taormina. My room was essentially next to the main busy road so very loud. The property had their garbage in a dumpster picked up at 4am right outside our room. There is trash and discarded items on the side of the property that you see every time I walked to my room (room 37 deluxe room). There is no dresser or shelves to put away any clothes. The pool is FREEZING and is not heated. Outdoor areas are very sparse and no cushions are provided for balcony areas unless requested. The free breakfast was excellent and served on the roof. Overall, an average property that needs updating and cleanup in a great proximity to the main shopping area of Taormina.

The Ashlee was the loveliest hotel I’ve stayed at in Europe. The staff was courteous and went out of their way to ensure we had what we needed. The hotel was very close to shopping and many restaurants. We loved having breakfast on the second level — the views were amazing. Highly recommend to anyone staying in Taormina!

This property must be rated less than one star. Rude and incompetent staff. They stole my hang bag and the manager Francesco did not cooperate or even bother to investigate. He stopped answering my emails and calls when I approached him and till today the case is still open without resolution. They don’t meet the least minimum standards of customer service. They are unsafe and disrespectful today the least. Our 2 other couple friends who stayed there at the same time also had the same awful experience. Unfortunately they ruined our experience at Taormina and highly recommend not to consider staying or dining at this property.

My husband and I absolutely loved our stay at the Ashbee. The hotel itself is on beautiful grounds, so even if you are not interested in exploring the Taormina area you will be happy with the views you find at the hotel. But if you do want to explore, it is in the perfect location. Not right in the busy walking streets of the old town, but close enough that all you need is 5-10 minutes to get to any restaurant you want to get to in that area. The breakfast was delicious, and with so many options we had a hard time deciding what to have every day. The service was exceptional, from the front desk staff, to the breakfast staff, to the cleaning staff, they are really on top of everything and will go out of their way to make sure you are enjoying your stay. We also highly recommend having dinner at the St George restaurant while you are there. This was my husband and my first Michelin star experience, and we were not disappointed. Not only was the food amazing, but the service was unparalleled. Just stay here, you will be pleased with your decision.

The Hotel is well located and within relatively easy walking distance of the night life of Taormina around the historical area. The stay at the hotel was marred by not being able to access the Michelin rated restaurant. Its not like there weren't good options available outside the Hotel but it would have been nice to have been told the place was fully boked when booking the room....this place is not cheap !! I felt a little ripped off to be honest... A final moan.....we were invited for a welcoming drink at the pool and after being walked down to the pool area by the duty manager, we were sniffily informed by the barman that he wasn't ready for us !....this is a 5 star joint !! Besides these issues, we enjoyed the stay and loved the breakfast on the rooftop deck !

Gorgeous terrace with sea view and lovely pool. Valet parking for your car. Helpful staff. But quite expensive so know ahead that this a real splurge but worth it as a way to relax in luxury when In Taormina Sicily.

The common areas of the hotel are spectacular , the gardens and the view. The pool, though small, was beautifully situated. We were there in high season and it was quite quiet. The breakfast was lovely with amazing views. Some negatives: We stayed in Room 30 - there wasn't enough drawer space. The air conditioning was temperamental - which was very annoying especially for the price. The thermostat in the room didn't seem to be functioning properly - though they were able to control the temperature properly from the reception. The wifi worked well, but you had to continually re sign in with your name and email address. It was very annoying. Overall, given the very steep price, and the negatives mentioned. I would probably try another hotel next time round.

At check-in, front desk person told my wife and I he was upgrading us to the Spa Suite. We went to check it out, it smelled of mold and sewage. Told him we couldn't stay in that room and wanted our original room as booked. He said "it was occupied." Told us to have a drink pool side and he "would see what he could do." Came back with a paper for me to sign for another room at a cost of 1,350 euros more (on top of the 4,460 euros I was already paying). My wife was livid; but what could I do? Last night we had to move because the room we were in was reserved by someone else. (Can you believe this?) Went to another room and could fall asleep until 5:00am as every time the people in the room above us went to the bathroom, rank the sink, or showered, it literally sounded like water was pouring in on us. Complained to the Resident Manager about the last night, he took 110 euros off for the inconvenience. When I complained about the bait-and-switch pay with the room, he gave me a long story about every room in the hotel being unique before giving me 350 euros off the 1,350 euros excess charge. Would never recommend this place. Front desk people are just unethical. When I started to talk to the bar and pool staff, they told me when we checked in there were only 4 or 5 rooms occupied. Further below there is another customer who asks if the positive reviews that have been posted are fake. I agree with him. Will be interesting to see if Expedia deletes my review.

An Oasis of Calm
Taormina is a fairly busy tourist town, especially in the evenings, but the Ashbee is an oasis of calm in a beautiful setting with excellent service from the ever attentive staff. The breakfast is as amazing as everyone says. There is a slightly over-complicated system of wifi codes but that's the only real problem !

Charming Sicilian Break
The Ashbee is delightful. Great location, room decor, bathrooms. Excellent staff- Davide, Simona and Christian great team and concierge were fantastic. The housekeeping turndown service was lovely. My only recommendations would be to consider updating some tech in room- have iPod docks, ports, coffee machine. And suggest investing in a comprehensive spa, and improving the poolside menu. Although can’t complain considering how charming it is to wander around the quaint Taormina and explore its many delights.

All the customers staying there were complaining about the price of food and beverages. As a result they went outside the hotel to eat and drink at lunchtime and evenings. If the prices were reduced the hotel would be busier. The bar was always empty because of this !! Beautiful location ideal for the town!

If ever a hotel fitted its location this is it. Lovely ambiance, views and luxury in all the right places. Small hotel with the usual advantages that this brings. Very central location in Taormina but with its own privacy guaranteed. One word of warning which is not the fault of the hotel, watch out for the late afternoon Mosquitos. Wear the necessary deterrent creams and sprays. A really enjoyable holiday week

My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our 3 night stay within minutes walking of centro Toarmina. The hotel views of the ocean were amazing and the interior views from our patio were private and equally amazing. The staff was very attentive and friendly. We'd recommend this boutique hotel to anyone looking for a romantic stay in Sicily!

Hotel was ok - bit tone honest we were expecting better from the pictures. We were on our honeymoon and were put in a terrible room by the road and bottom floor with no outlook. They didn't upgrade us but moved us to a better room if same category (why not put honeymooners in there to start with?!). Then tried to charge €25 a day for parking when firstly we didn't realise it would be anything and then when checked this said €20. Did send a bottle of champagne when moved rooms as obviously realised the initial room was bad and we're on honeymoon.

We stayed 8 nights at this lovely 5* hotel, a really relaxing visit. One area which does require attention is the restaurant, dinner menu unchanged for every meal. Counter balanced by many good restaurants in the town particularly CINQUE ARCHI and al Giardino.

Lovely hotel in very good position.
Welcoming and charming staff who were very good at giving directions and recommendations of places to visit and how to get there, etc. The room was very nice with a pleasant balcony and quite quiet considering how close to the center of town it was. This was very useful as it meant that it was easy to get to all parts of Taormina with no difficulty (apart from the hills, of course). There were very nice grounds and a lovely pool with good service at a poolside bar, etc. The only downside was that the room was not particularly well cleaned or serviced - we had to ask for toiletries and we noticed when we retrieved shoes that no-one had swept under the bed for some time!

Hotel staff were friendly and helpful. Beautiful views over the bay. Smart and comfortable spacious suite with great views. Wonderful dinner in the restaurant. The Ashbee lived up to high expectations that we had from previous reviews. The room was spacious and comfortable with a private balcony and rain shower. Even though the weather was a little cool the outside heated infinite pool was warm enough to relax in. Breakfast was truly delicious with both standard breakfast fare and a selection of local dishes suitable to make a full early brunch. Our one minor gripe was that when we tried to extend our stay at the hotel the reception were not prepared to honour the offer advertised on this website. They told me I could try and book this offer online but said we would probably need to move room (even though we had already been informed our room was still available).

Gorgeous Hotel in a Great Location!
We absolutely loved this hotel! We ended up booking an extra night as a result. The views are incredible as is the service. We also felt that the location was very convenient. Having stayed at other luxury 5-star resorts before arriving in Taormina to the Ashbee, we were VERY pleased upon arriving. I would highly recommend the Ashbee and will be staying here again on my next trip back to Sicily.

My wife and I stayed at The Ashbee for three nights during our recent late-summer tour of Sicily. From the moment we arrived we were made to feel comfortable and at home. The view from the terrace during breakfast was stunning and the service impeccable. On checking-out we were told that they had just been advised that the hotel was being elevated to 5-Star status as from next month - and I'm not surprised.

Perfect Hotel for Comfort and Relaxation
From what we saw of Taormina I would say this was the best hotel. It looked beautiful and had the most wonderful views of the coast with a lovely garden area where you could have your breakfast each morning. The staff were excellent and very pleasant. The rooms were very clean and comfortable, the only downside being no tea or coffee making facilities in the room. We would definitely go back to Taormina again just to stay at the Ashbee Hotel.
