We had good memories of our previous stay in Amanpuri #2, so we chose it again for our next visit to Tamarindo. We arrived late afternoon, when we went in the apartment the smell of humidity was unbearable. We opened all the windows and went out for a walk hoping it would go away, but it didn't. The first night we could not sleep well due to it. The next day when we got back after a beach day the place still had a musty smell, although not as much as the day before. During that night we kept the A/C on (although it doesn't make any good to my elderly parents), and that made it a little better. In addition to this, one room's closet was packed with stuff, the things in the upper shelf had a sign saying they belonged to the owners, but there were also clothes hanged, lamps and other stuff that made almost imposible to hang a couple of pieces of clothes; we stayed just for a couple of days so this was not such big problem, but it is not something I would expect when I rent a pricey apartment. When we checked out I complained about the humidity with the managers and they said the apartment had been closed for some days and that it has been rainy, and that it was nothing they could have done about it; I told them they could keep it ventilated on a daily-basis when it is not rented, or if not they shouldn't rent it or rent it with a big discount. They kindly apologized for the inconveniences and said they will work on it. I would reccomend the place, it is a nice apartment in a great location, but if you are planning to rent it make sure the humidity problem had been solved before you make the deal. Cheers!
