Talerddig cutting. The means by which the Newtown and Machynlleth Railway (which became a constituent of the Cambrian Railways) breached the Cambrian Mountains to head for the coast. Compared with 195516 there's been some extensive regrowth.

Railway Cutting at the summit of Talerddig bank, near to Talerddig, Powys, Great Britain. At just over 700 feet at the summit, Talerddig has always presented a challenge to railway operators and in steam days most trains required an assisting engine.
