Fantastic stay!!!
Five stars easily for this place! Great little getaway for two people - spacious, clean, perfect location for snowshoeing and cross-country skiing - it was everything we needed and more! Communication was great with the hosts and they even helped us with a few suggestions. Would not hesitate to recommend this place to friends and hope to come back ourselves.

Very Clean/attentive host/nice accommodations.
Once you've accepted the lack of kitchen sink and need to use washroom sink, the experience was very positive. Plenty of hot water. Bed comfy. Laura was very attentive to our needs. The muffins, chocolate, bananas and coffee were a very nice touch. Location was great for us, skiing at Sugar Bowl. Accessibility to Truckee and our family was great.

Perfect weekend getaway
If you're debating staying here, just do it! We stayed here over Labor day weekend and it was the perfect getaway. Wonderful hospitality (from chocolates to advice on nearby running trails), great space for relaxing, and the perfect location for hiking, mountain biking, and a short drive to Donner Lake. Beautiful view out back with a gas fire pit too! 10/10 would recommend and we already look forward to coming back.

Perfect, Cozy & Private getaway for 2
The cozy one bedroom, bathroom and living room area was perfect for the two of us. The tranquil view from the unit onto Alder Creek and forest was just perfect. It is obvious that our hosts take care in providing clean, safe and lovely accommodations.

Perfectly appointed
The cozy apartment was everything we needed and super convenient. No lugging gear through a hotel to store in a small hotel room. You can store your ski gear in the garage of the apartment which is accessed from the ground level driveway - easy! The place is quiet, the bed is comfortable, the water pressure is strong and the WiFi worked well. Also, you can walk to Tahoe Donner Cross Country. Laura was very responsive and helpful. Beautiful high country retreat
The living arrangements were excellent and provided the exact experience we were looking for. We were surrounded by beautiful tall pine trees. Convenient location for access to the golf course, Truckee, Donner Lake and Lake Tahoe. Keith and Laura were great hosts and easily accessible. Highly recommend.

Really great stay. Plenty of space for the 2 of us. Muffins, fruit and chocolates provided which were nice touches. The unit is stylish and comfortable, decorated in sort of a modern antique style. There’s a short walking trail behind the house, frequented by deer. Easy drive to all north Tahoe and Truckee activities. Large garage space available for you to store your gear if needed, such as bikes or ski gear. Would definitely recommend staying here

Beautiful Cabin Getaway!
My boyfriend and I had the best three nights at Laura’s place. She truly thought of everything to make our stay as comfortable as possible. We had so much fun barbecuing, watching movies, going on hikes, and fishing by the lake. Would definitely recommend!

Amazing getaway! Highly Recommend!
space was so nice! loved the outdoor patio and pretty view. We bought food to grill and used the amenities provided and ate some amazing meals! We brought a cooler which was good to store extra refrigerator items in. Bed was comfortable and instructions were clear/helpful. Overall we rate this 5 stars and will definitely return! Nice spot in Tahoe Donner. The deck off the living room has a popular bike trail 30ft away. Laura & her husband were very friendly and they provided snacks (muffins, bananas, & chocolate!)

Close to Perfection; Read Overview Thoroughly
Everything that was described and shown in the photos was provided and functioned. Pros: Access to both downhill and Nordic areas of Tahoe Donner were fantastic. We appreciated the cleanliness of the rooms and the location. Owner was responsive. The bedroom is spacious and view from the living room is lovely. Our ski gear was stored in a secure garage!!! The wifi was stable and the TV with Firestick worked smoothly for streaming. Shower stream is good. Cons: A kitchen sink is not provided; you will wash dishes using the bathroom sink. Central heat is controlled upstairs. This means both owners and guests are likely breathing the same recirculated air so ask if it is a concern. Owners are gone most of the day so we were not greatly concerned. We tried massage chair; not comfy for sitting and had to step over cord. Prefer a regular chair. Would have appreciated a bigger table for jigsaw puzzle or games. Not a big deal; maybe they had a card table somewhere.

Thank you Jane for your input. I'm sorry you were not pleased with the massage chair. It is something other guests love and compliment on. As for the cord being a trip hazard this would not have been an issue had you not rearranged the furniture in the kitchenette which allowed for a path where one is not meant to walk. You never asked for a place to do jigsaw puzzles which I would have gladly provided. The pictures of the apartment are very clear. There is no picture or claim that a kitchen sink is available. In the listing the location of the thermostat is given as upstairs in the owners area. Thank you for your review.

Perfect Weekend Getaway
Laura and Kevin were impeccable hosts. This was the perfect cozy cabin for 2. My SO and I just wanted some time away from the hustle and bustle of San Francisco, and this was everything we wanted and more! The surrounding area was also gorgeous, the “backyard” was full of trees and had a small brook - so serene to walk around. Also the location was convenient to pick up groceries, take out and fairly close to Northstar! Will definitely be back again.

Excellent apartment
Very clean and cozy apartment in walking distance from the Nordic trails. You do not find any better location than that in Donner! Very fast communication with Laura. Definitely recommend this apartment for your stay in Donner.

Great Spot in Truckee
I thought the property was perfect for our needs. Laura was very helpful during the booking process and even sent us some reminders to bring chains in case the roads were covered in snow. The property matched the descriptions well and was comfortable.

Nice place to stay in Truckee
Apartment was very nice. Laura and Kevin were extremely accommodating and friendly. There is no actual kitchen which was the only downside, which we didn't realize and probably was our fault for overlooking. Nonetheless, it was a very pleasant place to stay for a long weekend.

Great Lake Tahoe Stay
My husband and I had a great stay here. The property is beautiful & we loved sitting out on the deck that overlooked the meadow. The apartment is clean and the hosts were easy to communicate with. This is a darling apartment and a charming place to rest your head after long days out on the Lake. Would definitely stay here again.

Fabulous stay in ideal location
I spent a week in December 2019 in Laura and Kevin’s lovely apartment. It was fantastic all the way around. They are the kindest hosts, and make sure they take excellent care of their guests - from early communication once I made the reservation, to answering questions I had before my trip, to giving me the lay of the land once I arrived. Incredibly friendly, helpful and quick to respond. The unit is plenty spacious, comfortable, quiet and cozy. Absolutely perfect for me (solo) or for a couple. I was so impressed how they have thought of everything in equipping their kitchenette (like, it is better than most hotels). I did not need more than that as I tend to eat out and only bring back snacks and such to keep with me in the space. I loved the private entrance through the garage; made it easy for me to store my ski and snowshoe gear. The location of the home in the Tahoe Donner area of Truckee was perfect for me as it was close (less then 2 minute drive) to the Alder Creek Adventure Center where I could cross-country ski and snowshoe. And, because of staying in the home of a Tahoe Donner resident, Laura and Kevin provide a guest pass to enjoy discounted rates on the amenities that are exclusive to Tahoe Donner area. You are also a short drive a way from any place in the greater Truckee area. Loved my stay and am already figuring out when I can come back in the summer to take advantage of the little back deck/patio (among other things)! I highly recommend staying here. Thank you Laura and Kevin - I will be back!

Sure beats a hotel
This is an amazing space. The little things Laura and Kevin have done add up to a great experience. From painting their address in the snow bank, made it so easy to find in the dark, to muffins, fruit and coffee. The private entrance and garage space for skis so convenient. We will be back :)

Home away from home!
We really enjoyed our long weekend here. It was cozy, homey, clean, and stocked with everything we needed. It's a 5-minute drive to Tahoe Donner Cross-Country, which was perfect for us. Plus, it's close to downtown Truckee with lots of good places to eat. Laura was lovely and responsive. Would definitely stay here again!

We were bowled over by the experience with this place. If you are looking for a clean, quiet, apartment with a beautiful view this is your place! The hosts are super friendly and go above and beyond to make sure you are happy. The town has so much to offer if you want to stay in town, but it is just minutes away from North Tahoe if you want to go there. The amenities the hosts offer are unbeatable. Our only regret was that we could not stay longer.

A Must Stay!!!
The perfect getaway! Beautifully remodeled with great amenities. A must stay whether it's for a ski trip, spending a few days on the lake or just a quiet retreat. Laura was so sweet and accommodating, would definitely stay again!

Wonder location and great hosts
This lodging is a great spot for a single or couple. The location was ideal for us. Out of the hustle and traffic of Truckee, but with in easy drive of downtown Truckee and Donner Lake. Literally yards from the Alder Creek Trail that connects to endless miles of trails for hiking, biking or running in the cross country area and beyond in to Euer Valley. I think the road riding (bike) right the door is the best and safest in the Donner-Tahoe area. Bedroom and super comfortable. Living room,TV and internet Wifi connection all good. Kitchen is minimal with small fridge, micro, no sink (clean dishes in bathroom) and table for 2. Plan simple meals and eating out. Bathroom is fine. Laura and Kevin were super hosts. Answered all question took care of requests very quickly. Also really liked the deck and guest membership to Trout Creek Recreation Center and Tahoe Donner pool.

Clean, comfortable and very welcoming.
The studio has its own entrance and the owners live above . If you need to ask any questions Laura replies immediately. There was everything you needed and the bed was really comfortable. The small patio area has a BBQ and you are surrounded by lots of trees. You are not far from the town of Truckee which has lots of shops and great restaurants. Lots of information in the studio re.places to visit which we found very useful. We had a lovely vacation and it was great to go back every evening to a nice cozy place.

Perfect cozy getaway for two!
This was our second stay here in two months and it's the perfect size for a romantic getaway. Great for couples who want a low-maintenance visit in a cozy cabin. Kevin and Laura are wonderful hosts and the location is secluded, yet close to Truckee proper. My husband and I highly recommend it!

Quaint, cozy cabin—perfect for a romantic getaway!
Laura and Kevin were perfect hosts. When we walked into the cozy cabin, we were greeted with yummy scones, bananas and chocolates! The floor plan is perfect for two people with a beautiful view from the patio off of the living room. We will definitely return in the future!

Very comfortable, clean and quiet place to stay! Awesome trails nearby, beautiful view from the patio and was able to explore Tahoe and swim in Donner Lake. We visited the Lake Tahoe area for the first time for our 25th anniversary. This was the perfect location for our stay! The town of Truckee has everything you need and Donner Lake was a nice surprise. So many options for summer activities. We loved that we could walk out the door and right on to miles of trails! The best part of this property is the hostess, Laura. She was such a help in giving us information on different things to do. She even texted me one day to let me know about a special event going on in Truckee that evening. If I ever had a question, she was very quick to respond. This property provided us with everything we needed, and more! We hope to be back again and would love to stay in this exact place! Thanks for everything Laura!

Great Cozy Place!

The place was great and had everything we needed.
The accodations were wonderful from the kitchenette to the electric fire place and Roku. Laura was help in recommending restaurants and night time acitivies. The booklet of recommendations they put together was great. The space was lovely. We will definitely stay here next time we are in Tahoe.
