Relaxing and comfortable house
We loved our stay at Solitary Retreat. The view is spectacular and the house is well equipped and very comfortable. We liked the fact that we could relax and switch off for a few days. It is centrally situated and a great place to base yourself to explore the Blue Mountains. Will certainly stay again when in the area.

The place was well kept in a beautiful location. We tried the restaurant next door which was lovely as well. Great hiking trailers across the road.

Family Getaway
Great location, 10 mins to walk to supermarket, with trails & incredible view just across the road. Comfortable beds, nice bathrooms, all wonderful. Our only issue was no wifi, which was a big deal for teenagers!

Wonderful Stay
What a wonderful house in a great location to base our Blue Mountains explorations. Plenty of space for the whole family to spread out after a long day exploring. July may not be the best time to visit the Blue Mountains, but with heated blankets and the option of a warm fire, this place is ideal even in winter.

Home away from home.
Sensational stay for a two day get away. The central heating kept us warm and cosy. The linen was exceptional and Kym and Sue had provided everything to make our stay special. The location was close to most of the attractions that Katoomba has to offer. I would recommend this stay highly and would definately stay here again.

Beautiful arts and crafts home
Very comfortable home with a lot of style and just a few steps from a spectacular Blue Mountains view. Good restaurant with that same view literally next door. Hiking trails a short distance away. Very cute town to explore. We would love to come back and spend more time.

Traditional Mts Cottage with great view
Fabulous cottage. Lovely dining and sunroom looking onto backyard. Front verandah great views across valley. Cosy and warm. Double beds firm and a bit tricky for taller people. The one in the front room is quite high. I'd stay again.

Solitary Retreat
My daughters and baby grandson stayed at the cottage whilst attending the Leura Garden Festival. We were very happy staying there. Convenient location with amazing views, very comfortable and a beautiful house. It had everything we needed including lots of board games which we enjoyed playing in the evenings. We highly recommend it.

Kym's house is a lovely place to stay. Beautiful solid timber furniture, gorgeous heritage decor and wonderful views. Central heating and electric blankets makes it a warm cosy house. Check in and out is easy. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Katoomba. Such a lovely place.

Wonderful retreat!
We had a wonderful stay, the period details to the furnishing in the house were stunning. Lovely stocked kitchen and open plan kitchen/ dining room made for enjoyable family meals. Plenty of off-street parking and easy access to tourist sites. It was cold while we were up there so we enjoyed using the fire in the lounge and excellent wood supplied by the hosts for a small extra charge, great ambiance in the evenings. Also very good electric central heating that heated the house well. Will definitely recommend this lovely home for others.

Relaxing getaway
Solitary Retreat is a beautiful house full of period features. Our kids loved the house and garden. The location is quiet and so close to walking trails, with a beautiful view from the front deck. We loved being able to walk across the road and hop straight onto the walking trails. The house is very well equipped with everything you could need including special touches from the hosts such a fresh flowers on arrival. Would highly recommend.

Quiet bliss
What a wonderful property ! So very clean , spacious and warm. It was great to be able to stay at a property that my 92 year old parents could easily access due to no steps at the back door, a standing shower with only a low hob, night lights and a lovely sunroom as an extra living space. The furnishing were of a high standard and it was just delightful to imagine how people lived in this house when it was originally built while the renovations of bathrooms and the kitchen provided a great marriage of the nostalgia of yesteryear with modern day conveniences . The view was delightful and the morning sun on the wrap around verandah provided a lovely coffee spot. The kitchen was well equipped and the communication with the host was effortless, as was check in. Can’t wait to return !

Solitary Retreat - Great Get Away
Centrally located between Katoomba and Leura Solitary Retreat is ideally placed within easy reach of all the major attractions and close to wilderness areas if you really want to get close to nature and adventure. The house was great, there is plenty of room for up to 6 guests, with everything provided. We enjoyed our week away and will probably return in future...

Perfect Blue Mountains experience
Solitary Retreat is full of Blue Mountains character and the view is to die for. It is perfectly positioned for accessing bush walks or the cafes of Leura and Katoomba. A definite return destination.

Quiet retreat in Katoomba
A great oasis to escape the busy-ness of Katoomba whilst still being on the door step of it all. Spacious, filled with character, ample spaces to break-out into & so quiet......the photos just don't do it justice as the house is brighter & more modern than what we thought it would be. Highly recommend!!!

This property is well located with easy access to delighful walks I'd be willing to travel to the other side of the planet to see. How lucky are we that this is so close to Sydney, and within the wonderful upper mountains communities.

We really enjoyed our stay at the property, and the decor was a big hit with both the grandparents as well as the young children. Location is good with a nice walk to echo point and access to some lookouts. Extremely comfortable- really appreciated nice touches like the electric blankets!

Relaxing stay
We thoroughly enjoyed the house. It was charming and the central heating and fire were magic. The temperature drop the day we arrived and we felt so cosy inside that we were shocked when we went outside, at how cold it was. We cooked most of our meals in the house and we had no shortage of pots, pans and utensils. We would definitely stay again. Thank you.

Perfect location
We had a great stay. The house is clean and comfortable, the kitchen is also well equipped. lots of nice period details and funiture. The location was great, an easy short walk to the main Street of Katoomba and there are entrances to bush walks directly across the street. The street is very quiet and the views from the front bedroom and balcony are great! WiFi was not a necessity for us, but would be a nice upgrade
