Country retreat near Sydney
We enjoyed our stay in St Mary’s. Sia was a gracious hostess and helped us get settled after we arrived a bit frazzled. We didn’t realize from the photos that this studio apartment is part of an older farmhouse that has been converted into apartments. It’s located on the edge of a nature reserve where we enjoyed walking and listening to the birds. An abundance of breakfast foods were provided. We were delighted with the lovely shower and bathtub for soaking after traveling from the USA. The bed was comfortable and we slept very well. This studio is about an hour drive away from the Sydney airport or downtown Sydney. We rented a car and enjoyed exploring the area. Parramatta shopping center is a wonder and really worth exploring nearby. We took an excursion into the Blue Mountains and were thoroughly delighted with our experiences there.

The room itself was ok however there was no wifi only 3 channels worked on the tv once i fixed it the room was not very private we were kept awake by an adjoining room noise after several attempts to ask them to be quiet about 1am.

The reverse-cycle heating function didn’t work. The only heating for the whole apartment was one panel heater near the bed, which we kept on. However, the bedroom still dropped to 12 degrees on a mild 8 degree Sydney night. It was excruciatingly cold showering in the bathroom, which was two rooms away from the panel heater. We weren’t given wifi details either by email, in greeting us or in the apartment. We couldn’t contact the host as we had no internet, and VRBO only gave us a link to click to contact the host. Long-life milk capsules in the fridge were curdled with big white lumps in them. Only one, very dim light in the bathroom. My husband couldn’t shave; I couldn’t do makeup. No exhaust fan in the bathroom, and the window wouldn’t open, so the bathroom totally steamed up when we showered. Only one, very dim light in the kitchen; the same switch also turned on an exhaust fan in there. Too cold to have an unnecessary fan on. The following morning, we remembered that the host’s husband’s mobile number was on the gate at the other end of the long driveway, as he sells eggs. When we rang him as we left, he denied that the heating didn’t work or that there was anything else wrong with the apartment. He became unpleasant. He wanted us to come back and talk to him face-to-face. He wouldn’t give us a refund for our pre-paid second night there. We went and stayed at the Holiday Inn in St Mary’s. Less than twice the price for more than ten times the comfort.

Spacious unit and a quiet location
Thank you for a relaxing break at your place! This unit is located half way between the Blue Mountains and the City, which suited our needs. The train station is easily accessible by car and has ample parking. If you can overlook some cosmetic and minor functional flaws, this is good value for a comfortable and peaceful stay near Sydney. I would visit again for a short stay where self-catering and room space are advantages. Love the verandah!

They greeted me very kindly and even gave me some bread. It's a little far from the station, but the room was very clean and I had a great time. People who like walking should definitely visit here!! チェックインの仕方が分からなかったけど、ついたら夫婦が待っていました。駅からは少し遠いけど、部屋は綺麗だし浴槽もあるしパンはくれるしで最高でした！洗濯もできました^_^

Relaxing and convenient location.
We had a very relaxing time here. Ideal location if wanting to explore the Blue Mountains as well as spend time in Sydney as we did during our 18 day stay. Outlook from the apartment is more akin to being in a country setting yet with the convenience of takeaways, supermarkets etc. only 5 - 10 minutes away. The accomodation itself is very comfortable and surprisingly spacious with the balcony a great place to read a book or just soak in the views and be sheltered from either the rain or sun. Hosts were friendly and there when you needed them.

Sia was ever the gracious hostess. The apartment was comfortable and well furnished. The Blue Mountains are close by. Aldi’s is only a short walk. There are plenty of restaurant options too.

Perfect couples retreat
Sia is so easy to work with and talk to. The property is clean and quiet with all the amenities you could want for a couple. Close enough to town to get what you need and do what you want but it’s nestled in its own little secluded nook and you can have a coffee on the front porch and watch the wildlife and not even realize the city is a block away. Highly recommend the property and the owner! Thanks so much Sia for making us feel welcome!

Excellent stay
Sia was very kind and helpful. I needed a place to stay for my uni work placement at Penrith Ambulance station and Sia’s place was perfect - close to the ambulance station, quiet (good for shift workers) clean and private. Highly recommend.

My opinion
Property located on a large block, away from other houses, makings it very peaceful. My only complaint is that there was nobody at the property when I arrived & no prior instruction had been given on what to do.

Great value, overall, the unit is very clean, a very comfortable bed with quality coverings, easy to find and plenty of room, kitchen and bathroom are well stocked with all necessities. Good quality towels and a good shower. The reverse cycle aircon works well but the unit needs cleaning. There are signs of mould on the roof in the bathroom. The fridge/freezer worked well but was very noisy when in operation. Overall, a great, cheap place to stay, I will be looking at returning a couple of times this year.

Absolut ruhige Lage. 90 Min. per Bahn in die Innenstadt. 30 Min. Fußweg zur nächsten Bahn. 10 Min. Fußweg zur nächsten Einkaufsmöglichkeit. Für zwei Personen viel Platz im Zimmer. Sehr freundliche Gastgeber.
