The room we had was very adequate and above all it was quiet as it faced onto a graden and did not from the very busy road the hotel is located on. The room service was excellent, the room and its fen suite bathroom were kept clean and any requests were met fully. We were happy with the room and the service. It was difficult for us to get in initially as we arrived after 6 pm because of plan delays and our mobile phones were not working well in Australia as we had not yet been able to adjust them to Australian conditions. Hence we did not receive the code to open the safety box and find the room key until a local taxi driver helped us using his mobile phone. I am not sure that a text sent to mobile phone is the best way to inform visitors about the early closing time and the need to locate the safety box and the room key. Not every international traveller is digitally connected and savvy.
I stayed for four nights and everything was great. Check-in after ours was very easy, the room was clean and came equipped with a small kitchenette and aircon. The Motel is close to good transport links (buses, trains) as well as to restaurants, supermarkets etc.
We liked the view from our room, the peace and quiet, the pair of Rainbow Lorikeets that entertained us on the windowsill of our room, the fact we could easily walk to the ferry and excellent restaurant on Double Bay, but as always in Australia, the people here and everywhere in this country are so ingeniously friendly and caring.
This place is a below average accommodation in a run down building with not enough (and dangerously positioned) parking, small rooms, smelly bathrooms.
The room was clean, but very old, with water marks on the ceiling and wall damages. They provided packaged breakfast which was nice but not nearly a full breakfast.
Staff hung up the phone on me when I was arriving after 6pm and left me confused on how to get in my room. I was very tempted to go the police station and report this property. Parking is a nightmare, they say they have parking but there is only like 6 spots. Rooms were from the 1800’s sooooo old, moldy and smelly. The worst part was the lift that looked like it was from a horror movie.
Noisy, awkward parking, breakfast awful longlife milk has gone off...to many ramps and steps for elderly or disabled. Even though it did have a lift...
Limited dining venues in that area when we arrived in the evening...
It was very central to transportation. Close to Circular Quay the Ferries to manly Beach Also to Bondi Beach. It was a great stay and I would recommend anyone staying there.

Car parking a bit risky and very limited. Over all good stay.
Good, safe location close to train station, cafe, Aldi and convenience store. Helpful staff, optional self parking.

We needed to drive and wanted to walk to the Sydney Cricket Ground and take the train to city venues. It was perfect. Navigation and parking were easy and the hotel facilities were comfortable and well maintained. For a modest price as we paid, we would definitely repeat the experience. Thank you, Edgecliff Lodge.
Overall it was a good stay. The room was ready before the check in time, front desk very helpful, answered our questions and printed our boarding passes. The room was clean, furnishings looked old, but all functional. I booked this motel because of the proximity to the view point for New years fireworks. There is a store and a subway station not too far.
Great place to stay close to train station, supermarkets and shops. Stayed there due to partner racing in Sydney to Hobart race walkable to CYCA will stay again. Staff where helpful & room facilities and kitchenett was a bonus.
noted a few scuff marks on walls, and some mould in shower, some damage to timber near bench, access to trains very good not to far to walk and shopping for groceries handy at ALDI,
