"I have never encountered a smell as terrible as our room at this hotel. The room looked clean, but there was a horrendous stench as soon as we opened the door to room #6. It was coming from the carpet, the air conditioner, the mattresses and pillows. Sort of a combination of feet, cigarettes, possibly someone died and decomposed in there. The bathroom had a different but equally horrible smell, like rot and mold. Truly the worst experience I’ve had at a motel. The couple running it seemed nice, but that room should be condemned."

"Great location in John Day! The house, back patio and spacious yard was perfect for our 7 person group. Kitchen well stocked, comfortable beds and great views. Jim was quick to respond. We explored the nearby National Forests with our Jeeps and I enjoyed a good cardio walk from the house up to the plateau. Will recommend to others ."

"Jessie is a very accommodating host, and her VRBO is excellent! The little bungalow is always clean, has front door parking, and she is even accommodating to fur babies. It is within walking distance to downtown even! The patio is a great space, and has a grill that is great for an evening in. The queen bed is comfortable and Jessie has black out shades which is appreciated. This is our second stay and we would stay again. 5 stars!"
