Clean friendly staff
First it was tricky to find the reception as the parking at the back and there is a walk to the front. Probably some small arrow signs helps. Everything was clean. Quiet at night. Just all good for a transit trip.

A delightful cheery greeting on arrival. The hostel is clean and well looked after and every thing you would expect of a youth hostel. En-suite rooms are small but comfortable. Provides a welcome nights rest.

Nice place and cosy
The wifi is not working at upstairs rooms. The bed for single ocupancy has quite unsafe bed rest I have had to move my pillow to the other side ofthe bed. But I met a very assertive and nice staff, very clean and lovely environment.

Bad experience
When we book hotel that shows a double bed in that room but when we go there room was very small and there was a one small bunk bed for two adults . we booked that hotel for three nights but we cant stay even one night.we had really very bad experience. We are not happy and never recommend that hotel for anybody. And also they should refund us.

I was back in Stratford visiting friends so I know the area well. The YHA location is excellent , ideal to have on site parking in Stratford. The room and facilities were very good and the staff very friendly and helpful, the food was very good. I will certainly stay again next year when on my next visit.

A nice hostel--walk or bus from Stratford
The hostel is nice, with excellent staff. It's a bit far from town and can be hard to find if your first visit is after dark. (Not all of the way is well lit.) Catch Bus 15 across from McDonald's and ask the driver to let you off at the youth hostel. Once you know what you're doing it's a pleasant 45-minute walk, or check the bus schedule. Good breakfast available.

Great all round
Great stay. Five of us in three comfy bunk beds. Had a laugh with reception, and given details to get in later as knew we'd be back after midnight. Adequate parking, fantastic showers and we all paid for a great buffet breakfast before we left.

Lounge are lovely. Games room good. Kitchen area very good with many sinks, kettles, microwaves etc. The only thing is the car park as due to weather full of pot holes with water in

Love the gardens. House comfortable inside. Food pretty disgusting though. . So unhealthy to see all that greasy breakfast food, scrambled egg swimming in water, ghastly coffee. Such a shame. Bad for young and old. Stayed in a bothy which was gorgeous. YHA staff superb! Really helpful. Thank you!

Thank you for your review, it's fantastic to hear that you enjoyed your stay in our camping pod. Dissapointing, however to hear that you did not enjoy our breakfast. If you are not a fan of the traditional English breakfast, there are a range of options including fruit, smoothies, cereal, pastries, etc.

Very pleasant,comfortable stay. I felt safe. Great facilities. One hiccup....I would have preferred the bunk beds to be curtained off for added privacy and marked to identify which bunks free as I nearly bedded down in someone elses bunk!

The room was too small for 3 people and the bathroom smells like sewage, we complained about it they didn’t something about it but by morning they problem came back. The bathroom light kept on going on and off all night which disturbed our sleep.

Sorry that you encountered issues during your stay, we did encounter a problem with the drain in your room, but this has now been resolved. We have reviewed the lighting sensors also and this is no longer an issue. I hope you will still consider this and other YHAs in the future

I stayed in a double bed ensuite. All very nice except I couldn't get the radiator to work and it was a little cold.

Staff here extremely friendly, at all hours of the day and night. Had a private room my first night, then a shared female dorm the next two. The private room was the same as the dorm, just with one bunk bed rather than 4, so everything pretty standard. Beds themselves comfortable enough, showers and toilets clean and looked well kept. The breakfast buffet is convenient... but I had much better breakfasts. Worth it for the fact that you pay just 6.95 and can keep getting refills until breakfast is over, I even saw some people loading extra plates into takeaway boxes for a lunch! The cook staff were helpful and even had gluten free bread available. Picnic tables were a nice touch for eating and relaxing at in the evening. I took the bus between here and Stratford, and it was pretty reliable. The one con would have to be the camps of screaming children that seem to arrive at 7:30am every day...!

As YHA is a charity which focuses upon young people, we actively encourage children to stay and are proud to be part of their countless adventures.

Comfortable, Basic Budget Accommodation
We always enjoy staying here because it offers great value accommodation in a really good location close to Stratford. There is no TV or kettle in the room, but we just take our laptop with some DVDs together with a travel kettle. The staff are always particularly friendly and helpful.

Thanks for the review, it's great to hear that you enjoy your regular stays! We can keep our accommodation affordable by omitting those little extras that you would find in a hotel such as tea and coffee facilities and TVs in the room, though we do have a couple of TV lounge areas as well as a fully equipped kitchen. Massive hostel.
We booked at the last minute. Massive hostel with good facilities. Big garden. A bit far from the centre of town, but we had a car. Stratford is a beautiful town, and this is a good place to stay while visiting.

Thanks for the review, our grounds and ancient trees are popular with all guests and staff! We are a little way out of town but are on a regular bus route which takes just 12 minutes from the hostel to the centre of town. We hope to see you again some day soon here or at one of our many hostels.
