    About this property

    Entire place

You'll have the entire home to yourself and will only share it with other guests in your party.

Arden Holiday Lettings Stratford with parking sleeps 4 has dishwasher!

Our cosy holiday home is situated right in the very heart of Shakespeare’s home town. Shakespeare's birthplace is just 4 minutes’ walk away. No car is required as you can walk everywhere!!

We have put into place a vigilant cleaning and disinfecting regime of the whole property in between guest stays to prevent infection. These include:
    1. Washing of bedding outsourced, thoroughly bleaching all bathroom floors, showers, sinks and fridges with all hard floors being and surfaces being cleaned with antibacterial spray this also includes high touch areas such as door handles, tables, and keys.
    2. Hand wash will be in both the Kitchen and bathroom.
    3. Hand sanitiser will be made available (Please remove your shoes on carpeted areas to prevent any contamination staying on the carpet).
    4. We now meet most guests when entering the property if around. If not this will be done via lock box which will be cleaned with antibacterial spray or wipes after each guest visit.
    5. The property will be fully ventilated in between Guest stays! We do not supply face masks.
    6. A good supply of cleaning products needed for your stay and will be available at the property for your use. (Please do not put antibacterial wipes down the toilet as the pipes are old and this will cause a blockage because the pipes are narrow and old).
    7. We recommend all cutlery, utensils, plates and pans be placed in the dish washer and this turned on when you leave and that no items are put back in the cupboard that haven’t been washed by this method.
“We ask you please empty the bins and put them in the outside bin ready for collection as well as leaving the bedroom windows slightly open to air the house.
Safety is of paramount importance to us both as Covid is still here and we certainly don't want it again.
We wish you all a pleasant and safe stay in our holiday home and look forward to welcoming you back.
If you have enjoyed your stay with us, please leave us a review and pass on our details to your friends and take our business card.
    Thank you in advance.
There is an extensive list in the house for your use of local Restaurants most of which offer either a delivery or collection service so you don't even have too cook if you choose not too?!
Please continue reading about our holiday home:-

This Victoria terrace Cottage has retained many or its original features including wooden panel doors and sash windows but is light, deceptively spacious and offers comfortable modern living. It is beautifully decorated in both bright & neutral tones with a good mix of old and new and has your own private Courtyard garden (partly covered) perfect for summer evenings or having a BBQ after a busy day of sightseeing.

The house comprises two bedrooms, one with a large king size bed and the second with two single beds (all have Orthopaedic memory foam mattresses which are brand new). There is the option of a fifth Jay bed for an extra £15 per night which can go in the Lounge or Dining room (suitable for child)

The Luxury Hotel style bathroom has a large freestanding bath, separate shower with both ceiling and wall attachments, toilet, heated towel rail as well as a huge wall sized mirror with shelf for all your toiletries.

The lounge is large and has a three seater sofa and two arm chairs. The lounge leads to the dining room and then onto a modern Kitchen and utility room all fitted with new appliances and outside there is a private Courtyard garden which is perfect for alfresco dining in the Summer if you so wish (a charcoal BBQ is also there for your use) Our house is equipped with Coffee pods and milk as well as Hotel bathroom toiletries and fresh towels.

Please note our house is strictly NONE smoking. "We will consider 1 x small well behaved dog and charges may apply". Strictly No Puppies! Vaccines and flea/worm treatments must be upto date and by booking you are agreeing that they are upto date. Check with us if unsure of dog breed.

We have a travel cot and high chair available if requested prior to stay. There is a dishwasher, washing machine, tumble drier, fridge, Microwave, Kettle, dolce gusto coffee maker, steam iron, ironing board, single oven and ceramic four ring hob with over head extractor which are all new. We can also provide a child's bed guard if arranged in advance.

There is a cooler box for guests to use for Picnics on the River and picnic blanket. There is also an umbrella hanging on the coat rack in the lounge for guests use. In addition the house has a Champagne bucket for those wishing to celebrate that special occasion and need something to put it in.

The house is perfectly located with an abundance of cafes, restaurants, shops nearby many of which are carrying out a delivery service during Covid 19 times (a laminated list of some our favourite restaurants can be found on the dining room table along with a great reccomendation for breakfast/brunch 150 meters away) The Theatre’s and Shakespearean places of interest just minutes’ walk away. You will not be short of things to do and the River Avon is perfect for an evening stroll or taking in the sights by water.

The railway station for those coming by train is a 4 minute walk away so a car in not necessary when staying. We offer use of an on street parking permit for use during your stay which must be returned prior to departure or £100 will be deducted from the security deposit held. There is also a convenient car park located further down Arden Street if preferred or have 2 cars.

From the moment you leave the property there is plenty to do and see. Go back in time as you visit the Shakespearean houses to see where the Bard was born, grew up and went to School. Be mesmerised by the black and white Tudor buildings throughout the town centre or simply stroll along the river banks of the Avon. There is always the opportunity to hire a boat or take a river cruise and explore the waters around Stratford.

The canal also provides great waterside walks and bike rides and an opportunity to hire narrow boats and try your skill with the locks a real tourist attraction. You instead may choose to simply relax on an Open Top bus and hear all about the various attractions or chill out and people watch in the numerous cafes and restaurants. Enjoy the delights of Stratford market which was awarded the best private market in 2014 and attracts many visitors either in town on a Thursday or riverside on weekends with the Christmas markets opening later into the evening. The Theatres, as well as plays also offer tours behind the scenes and costume workshops throughout the year.

For those with more energy we have plenty of cycle routes with a traffic free 5 mile route known as the Greenway taking you to long Marston with two cafe's en-route for refreshments and where you can also hire bikes. Stratford also has a number of golf courses too: Menzies Welcome, Stratford Oaks, Welford and Stratford's most prestigious Club on the Tiddington road.

The Butterfly Farm is a real hit with children (and adults too!) as is the Mechanical Art and Design Museum. There is a large park next to the river which has fabulous play areas for children and Tennis Courts and if the weather turns there is also the newly renovated Leisure Centre with a wide variety of sports on offer and Olympic size swimming pool. Stay at Arden House
We stayed at Arden House as a family for 16 nights. The location of the house was great as it was a 5 minute walk to Shakespeare’s Birthplace and the centre of town. That being said, the house is located on a very busy street and sleeping with the window open would be impossible. The property comes with a parking pass but we rarely found a spot to park on Mansell Street after our day trips and had to pay for parking at the lot across the street. The house includes all amenities and we found everything we needed for cooking a meal at home. Pictures of the backyard should be updated as they are misleading. This space needs some TLC as the patio furniture was old and faded and the planters were neglected (dead shrubs). The best feature about this property is its close proximity to the town centre which puts everything within walking distance.

    Great base for exploring
Had a great stay. House is the perfect size for two couples. Very well equipped and everything has been well thought out. Seamless entry and parking. (in the side road) Although not always easy to get a space if you go out for the day as there are limited spaces. Great outdoor space for relaxing after a hard day sightseeing. Perfect location for walking around Stratford, and well positioned for the cotswolds by car. Only downside was the traffic noise at the front of the house which means you can’t have the window open. A fan is provided but it’s as noisy as the traffic.

A nice break in this lovely property
We enjoyed our stay at this lovely property. It had all amenities you would need for a short or a long break. We particularly enjoyed the patio and the beautiful bathroom. The beds were very comfortable, and the TV set up even included access to NETFLIX. We struggled to find a parking place on Mansell St, so we left the car on the large parking nearby, which was not too expensive (£20 for 72h). The House is on a big road; however, it is also very central, so every interesting part of the town was at a walking distance. We also discovered a large shopping centre 10 mins away by foot, including M&S Food etc.

    Wonderful Stay
I suppose in these post-COVID days we have to address the most important things - and the care these hosts put in to keeping the property clean and safe for guests is incredible. They advertise that, and it was one of the main things that made me book with them. That, and a totally lovely house. For a start, brilliant communication pre-visit, easy and workable non-contact check-in, and a sparkling clean house when you enter. The house is lovely, elegant, and well-equipped - especially the kitchen, for those who like to cook. The location is awesome - five minutes walk from the centre of town. Another bonus is that the booking comes with a permit that allows you to park literally 30 seconds around the corner, so you can wander in to town or drive out and explore the beauty of Warwickshire at your leisure, and without stress. For the mundane - bed was so comfy, bathroom lovely, and the overall decor, superb. I look forward to visiting again.
