"Stayed two nights a the Hotel Ranga and so glad that my wife and I added the extra day. The restaurant was all that we expected and more and a great place to spend a cold windy night in the South. It’s also only an hour or so from Reykjavik so well worth the drive for the high quality authentic Icelandic cuisine. Rooms are very comfortable and many have access to one of two outdoor hot tubs. Location also very convenient to main attractions. "

"I have stayed here twice now over 2 years and both times it was amazing. We were greated with a smile and a piece of cake. Shown to our room, not just the usual go here then there from reception. All the furnishings are like new and there is everything you could possible need for the kitchen including salt, pepper oil and a great selection of herbs and spices and some sauces. There is milk portions in the fridge for the tea, coffee and hot chocolate powder provided. The beds are super comfy bathroom is spotlesly clean with a great shower. The perfect place to stay."

"We had an excellent stay at Skalakot and wished we could have stayed longer. The property is so beautiful and our room was very spacious. We also really enjoyed the fireplace lounge after dinner. The spa was worth the extra fee and a very relaxing experience. Dinner was so delicious and relaxing as well. We were part of a larger group and that didn’t impact the quality of our meal. Our breakfast was also delicious and the staff even accommodated an early departure with to go boxes and coffee. They truly took the time and effort to make sure every bit of our stay was taken care of, even for just one night. If we ever return to Iceland, I would make it a point to spend more time at Skalakot for some rest and relaxation."
