"Functional clean facility with free parking at quayside 50m from the property. Room has lovely view of Loch Fyne. We stayed in Tarbert for 1 night due to the location to catch the ferry to Islay from Kennacraig which is 15 minutes away. Really spacious room and breakfast is delivered in the morning at your specified time you just complete your menu requests the night before. Would certainly stay again if across in this part of idyllic Scotland."

"Bihar cottage was fabulous really well equipped, better than any I’ve ever stayed in. Beds were comfortable, lounge was large and the views were superb. We had the sea view from every bedroom window as well as the lounge. Garden was beautiful and we saw cruise ships, frigates, submarines seals and all kinds of bird life. Dunoon is a lovely little town and is only about 15 minutes away and you can get pretty much anything you need. We travelled to Inverary, Glencoe, went up Ben Nevis, had a trip on the Waverley the paddle steamer. Everywhere was accessible, definitely the best holiday we’ve ever had in Scotland and we go every year! Would recommend to anyone!"

"Lovely clean room, we didn't get a Loch view which was a shame but that's how it is. Room was ideal for our overnight stay Bed was comfortable but strangely small for a "double" bed The one disappearing thing was the lack of plugs in the room, there wasn't one anywhere near the dressing unit, where my wife would of used her hairdryer and straighteners, even with the extension lead we brought, she ended up sitting at the window with a shaving mirror. Not ideal."

"I had a sea view and the view was absolutely stunning. The room was good, bed really comfortable and clean, bathroom clean and seemed relatively new. Water pressure not the best but it's an old building. Looked like someone had spilled bleach on the carpet at the bathrrom door but was clean apart from that. Plenty drawers and wardrobe space. I ate in the restaurant one night and it was nice, good choice and tasty. Maybe a bit old fashioned but it fits with the hotel, which is an old character building. A nice terrace at the front to sit and watch the sunset of an evening but limited space. There are a lot of steps at the front up to the hotel (which were blocked off when I was there) or quite a steep hill to walk up the road. Staff all really helpful - opened the sash window for me that I couldn't manage and lovely and friendly in the reastaurant. With such amazing views there really is nowhere better than Scotland when the sun shines and it did!"

"This facility was a very pleasant surprise. Big beautiful room, nice harbor room, clean and comfortable. Too bad we only stayed one night. First time guests might be surprised to find no staff on site when checking in. We passed by the entrance at first look because of its innocuous door and recessed signage. Once inside, the lobby and hall decor reflect a range of motifs. Very eclectic but well presented. Cannot address the breakfast quality and values because we had to leave early to catch a ferry to Islay. Parking is limited to public lots or side streets. Easy access to dining, with bars and restaurants within a five-minute walk. Recommend Knap House if you are in Tarbert."
