Quiet and cozy cottage hidden on the banks of Lake Norman


This fully remodeled cottage is located on over 16 private acres and is located on a dead-end road off a dead-road that ends at Lake Norman so there is minimal traffic or noise. The property features a creek, a small waterfall, a pond, and wildlife (deer, rabbits, groundhogs, birds, etc). We also have two mini pigs, Kevin Bacon and Hamlet, who are friendly and fun to watch. (They love peanuts - some will be provided if you want to feed them).
Perfect for a romantic getaway, home base for hiking trips and other outdoor activities, and long-term stays (discount available for stays over 2 weeks).
The cottage and yard are maintained by owners, Dave and Trish, who live on-site in a separate house.

NOTE: NO children under 12 or pets. Service animals are allowed with an extra fee.

A house in the country getaway

Beautiful and relaxing stay in the country. We enjoyed it very much. We enjoyed walking down to see the dogs and the pigs(Kevin Bacon and Hamlet). We hope to stay again.

Great stay

We enjoyed this place so much that we booked our next stay here as soon as we left and already looking forward to coming back. The house is very clean and comfortable, located on a beautiful property with fields, forest, and a waterfall. Trish and Dave are great hosts and we enjoyed meeting their dogs and pigs.

Great stay-perfect for a family get together

Our stay was wonderful. The house was perfect for what we were looking for. We love the country view, and it was close to My husband son and which he lived in that area. We took a walk together. We played games outside on the patio and when it got too hot, we were inside with the cool air conditioning overall it was great stay.

Home Away From Home

If you are looking for a quiet cozy place to retreat to for some relaxation, this is the place to be. The home is very clean and the bed was super comfortable. The office space was great for getting some work done. The total vibe is very homey and I would definitely stay here again.

Another Great Stay!

This is the second time we have used Trish's cottage for guests coming in from out of town, and again, it was wonderful! Very clean, great communication. She even had a note written for our friend from the Philippines with a Filipino greeting, which made him very happy. Definitely will stay here again!

Perfect hideaway

This is a cozy, comfortable cottage tucked back in a beautiful rural setting. The accommodations were first rate and the setting was wonderful from the fireflies at night to the rooster in the morning. We would return without any hesitation.

Beautiful, Peaceful, and Very Clean

The house is well maintained with nice furnishings. It is in the country, but because of that, it is quiet and peaceful. There is no water view but within a short drive, you can be on the lake. The hosts are very nice but allow you to have privacy. I would highly recommend.

The wife and came down to stay a few days to search for a place to live in NC and came across this lovely spot. It was quite, full of nature! And the owners were absolutely wonderful. Very informative. Loved everything about our stay there.

Tranquil surroundings

We came to visit family who have a lake house nearby. The cottage is adorable, welcoming, cozy and pristine. Couldn’t have asked for a better location- a peaceful property where you can enjoy watching the birds and even visit with the goats! Wonderful House!!

I reserved this for a visiting speaker for our church, and he couldn't stop praising the cottage! He said that it was extremely clean, a convenient location, and the hostess was very helpful. He was very pleased and so are we. Definitely using them again for any other friends we host in town!

Great stay and wonderful weekend!

We booked Trish and Dave’s place for a sibling getaway weekend and it was perfect for us! The home is located on a beautiful property and close to lots of things to do. The house was super clean and comfortable and met all our needs. My brother, sister, and I were sitting on the front porch catching up and Trish comes driving up with brand new cushions for the porch chairs that we were sitting on to make us more comfortable. It was lovely!

An Absolute Pleasure

We had a wonderful time at this property, which was immaculately clean lovingly maintained and in a great location, a quiet and spacious property near a working farmette. There was so much charm and character that you cannot help but immediately feel at home when you walked in the door. It had a beautifully appointed and spacious front porch that was really just a great place to hang out and enjoy some peaceful vibes. The kitchen was nice and open and it overlooked a large and fenced backyard and the woods beyond it. We will definitely be back!

Christmas Made Easy

Although I live just a few miles away, I had family coming for Christmas. The description in the listing is 100% accurate. It was perfect for our needs…very comfortable with almost anything we needed. Tucked away enough so it’s peaceful & quiet, yet only a 10 minute drive into the city. Thank you so much, it was perfect.

Great getaway!

Trish was absolutely wonderful with communication. The property itself is beautiful and she is making even better upgrades to the farm it looks like. The house was lovely and had all the essentials we needed for the weekend. She also has a lot of eco friendly accommodations which was nice to see. enough room for the four of us to comfortable eat at the table as well as sit for general down time. With it being later in fall, the evenings were cool and there was a lovely fire pit outside for enjoyment. We were in town for the renaissance festival and would gladly stay here again for next year!

Peaceful stay

The area is off the beaten path. My husband and I came from Ohio to meet our son who was close by for an internship over summer. The house was clean. Everything you need is there, even some garden veggies! We were going to plan a bonfire and Trish even brought over some chairs, but it rained and we instead played Chalottopoly which was provided. We visited the Carrigan farms quarry and Grandfather mountain in Boone, NC. Both were amazing!!! Boone has so many places to eat and shop! Last but not least, the house has a walkable path to get out into nature. There are goats and a pig to visit. Thank you for the nice stay!
