Search Starý Petřín hotels

The best area to stay in Starý Petřín is directly within the village centre, particularly around the main square.

This central area offers a quiet, traditional village experience. You'll find a few local guesthouses and restaurants within easy walking distance, often housed in historic buildings. The church and the local shop are key landmarks, and the surrounding streets are generally residential and peaceful.

Couples looking for a relaxing escape will find this area ideal. It provides a peaceful base to enjoy the natural beauty of the South Moravian Region, with opportunities for strolls through the village or exploring the nearby vineyards. The focus here is on tranquillity and local charm.

For those seeking a bit more seclusion and direct access to nature, staying in one of the guesthouses or farm stays just outside the village centre, on the road leading towards the Dyje River, is an excellent option.

The best time to visit Starý Petřín is from late spring to early autumn, specifically from May to September, to enjoy the most pleasant weather and a full range of outdoor activities.

During these months, the weather is generally warm and sunny, making it ideal for exploring the surrounding countryside, cycling along the Dyje River, or visiting the nearby Vranov nad Dyjí Chateau. The lush green landscapes are at their most appealing, and outdoor dining is a popular option.

For couples looking for a romantic getaway, early June or September can be particularly appealing. These periods often offer warm days with fewer crowds than the peak summer months of July and August. You'll find it easier to book a table at local restaurants and enjoy the tranquil beauty of the region's vineyards and historical sites.

Families travelling with children will find July and August most suitable, as this aligns with school holidays.
