Absolute tranquility
We stayed here for a couple of nights, coming off of working in busy Cannes, France. And Chateau de Roussan was just what we needed. The property is quite large and was so peaceful. There are lots of lounge chairs where you can find your own private nook, with a glass of wine, and just listen to all the birds chirping. The staff was beyond friendly and amazing. They spoke great English and were extremely helpful. We rented 2 electric bikes from the hotel to ride around beautiful St. Remy and they were super comfortable and easy to operate. The room was quite large, with a sitting room, good size bed and large bathroom. Things are a bit dated, but it's an old chateau. It's exactly what I expected, but delivered even more. We would return in a heartbeat to the St. Remy area and stay at Chateau Roussan again. The restaurant was closed on the days we were there for dinner and we ate breakfast in town. So I can't comment on the food. But we loved every moment we spent there.

The Best Chateau Experience
The most delightful and personal Chateau stay we could have hoped for during our Provence trip. The property is something out of the movies, the service is impeccable and we were always made to feel comfortable. A stay you wold remember for a long while.

Incredible value and magical stay for Valentine’s Day. We loved the property and it feels so fun to stay in a large Chateau like that. Greeting by Sabine was perfect and dinner was fun. Dinner service took a long time, I’m not complaining but just letting you know it is all part of the experience so bring a lot to talk about between courses. We will be back if we get a chance.

Lovely old romantic chateau in the countryside
It's a charming hotel. The staff are lovely, the rooms are gorgeous and very clean. Breakfast is very generous and very nice. The grounds are beautiful. You'll need your own transport though.

An Amazing Chateau and an Exceptional Service
We don't have enough great things to say about this chateau! From the minute you drive through the tree lined road leading to this historic building it will take your breath away. Although only a mile from beautiful St Remy it feels like you are far from anywhere. This stay really were exceptional and no request was too much. Thoughtful, traditional decor, superbly helpful pleasant staff (including very helpful check-in with lots of great recommendations for visits to the area) combined with an amazing room with exquisite views and beautiful gardens made this the best stay we've ever had. We were so sad to leave. Highly recommended. A real find! If you want to experience true traditional Provence this is the place! We'll definitely be back. Thank you for the perfect Chateau experience!

I loved staying at Château Roussan. Our junior suite was large with graceful French furniture and a view of the plane trees lining the driveway through two large windows. Wonderful old garden, a library near our room to sit and read. The staff, especially Vincent, were available to help but not hovering. I really felt like I was in by gone France.

So disappointing after high expectation
Most disappointing stay as we had high hopes. On arrival at 3:05 we were told by a very unfriendly man at reception that the restaurant was booked out for that night and was closed for the next two. He gave us no information on the area and finally we got a map begrudgingly from him. We felt very unwelcome. When I later told him we were unhappy he just looked at us and said nothing. The chateaux is fine on inside but outside needs a lot of work and is very run down. There are no facilities as no tea/ coffee area anywhere, no pool etc. the grounds are run down also. We paid for a superior room which was on top floor, up 44 steps and we are older people so difficult for us with luggage etc. Room had 1 tiny window only so very dark, lights on all day.

Beautiful property and surroundings. Rooms were nice and spacious. The staff was friendly and helpful. One small suggestion would be to perhaps create a warmer ambience in the reception and dining area with some music, even music from the same period as the chateau. It seemed a little too quiet and stark. I would, however, definitely recommend Chateau de Roussan and would certainly consider returning.

Romantic Château in a fabulous location. The garden area is beautiful! We walked to St Rémy for the market and restaurants and did quick day trips to local sights. Lovely stay. Concierge, Vincent, was phenomenal. I would recommend for a couple.

The staff was friendly and the room was spacious and comfortable. The view from my room to the chateau grounds was beautiful. The authentic and historic setting made me imagine how people lived in an 18th century chateau. A unique experience.

Wonderfully situated just outside St Remy. Central to a lot of the wonders. The hotel is really comfortable, clean and wants nothing. The restaurant provides a great menu (except on Mondays). The town of St Remy is moments away for all your French holiday needs. A true gem.

Chateau de Roussan - Nita Travels
Chateau de Roussan was fantastic! So pleased to find this gem! Last minute booking at 11pm. Gracious staff still welcomed us warmly. Best of two worlds: near enough to San Remy de Provence but worlds away in a peaceful, romantic setting. Why stay in a typical hotel when you can have a chateau to explore? Opening the wooden shutters in the morning, gazing at the wonderful old buildings and tall trees was truly waking up in another world after a hectic day of sightseeing it was a pleasure to come back with cheese, crackers, fruit and wine and wind down. Gracious staff, old world charm, sprawling grounds only 15 minutes from town. Why stay anywhere else?

Great choice
When we arrived, they had no record of our reservation. I assume someone down the line from Hotels.com dropped the ball relaying the reservation to the hotel. Fortunately, a room was available and they upgraded us to a large room with a fabulous, newly renovated bathroom. Great shower, which is rare anywhere in France, much less rural France. Staff were friendly and helped with heavy luggage. Elevator goes to the second floor, but not the 3rd floor of larger rooms. Beautiful grounds. Very quiet. Lots of free onsite parking. Downside is that there's nothing in the immediate vicinity, so the only convenient meals are at the hotel. It's important to have your expectations for the Chateau de Roussan in order. It's a classic Provential chateau that has been restored to something close to its original condition. It is not an over the top luxury version of how, thanks to Downton Abbey, many Americans imagine wealthy Europeans lived 100 years ago.

Nice Chateau style hotel ~2 kms out of town, quiet
Big room, and very quiet and tranquil surroundings. Our room was fully wheelchair accessible which also translated into a large room with spacious bathroom on the ground floor with direct private access to the gardens and terrace. The staff were wonderfully friendly and while we were there they were clearly training young new staff which meant that not everything was a 100% smooth experience but nothing negatively impacted and the attitude and enthusiasm of all was refreshing. The Hotel had an exhibition of its and the region's history staged throughout which was interesting. The restaurant food was good but we had some uneven front of house service in the restaurant mainly due to training and it didn't impact. Overall the standout feature was the quietness of the place - a wonderful place to enjoy late summer in Provence. The afternoon light is spectacular and I could think of a nicer place to read a book and sip Pastis.
