The superior room was comfortable and led out to a huge quiet garden. But the decking and furniture outside were rotten. The bathroom had an unstable toilet and a difficult shower. Insulation was poor. Presentation on approach wasn’t great, with dead plants everywhere. Having said that, we had a great night’s sleep and staff were friendly and helpful. Location great.

Comfortable room (better than I expected for the price), very clean throughout, polite, friendly and helpful staff. Outside garden was rather unkempt and decking and woodwork needs attention. Interior refurbishment was being carried out with no disturbance to residents. Broken bathroom fan had been noted and was repaired on day two. Filipino chef excellent with a variety of unusual but excellent dishes on the menu - do try some! Car parking space is a bonus. Yes, I will stay there again, despite the steep hill back from the Marina!

Arrived quite late but was met with a very friendly welcome, was shown where everything was and allocated our room, popped Down to the bar which was good, prices ok, room was clean but we had a broken side table and no chair, comfy bed, bathroom was spotless. parking was good, breakfast was excellent and overall would definitely go back and would recommend.

We parked in the drive and the staff let us stay until 3 pm the next day which was great. The room was large and had a separate toilet and bathroom, nice touch. The breakfast which was included was fine and if you feel you need more, there is self service cereal. The only thing that would have been nice was filter coffee, but the instant was a good brand and palettable. I usually go to Hastings for the day, but the OYO is so reasonably priced and close enough for a lovely stroll along the promenade. Some amazing restaurants and bars nearby as well so I'm sure we will be back as get the same lovely welcome from the staff. Thanks so much.

Room and amenities were clean. Bonus that I had a bath, really liked that. Breakfast was basic but fine. My only issues was there was no carpet in the room which meant the room felt cold. The hallway outside was also uncarpeted and I could hear people walking up and down all night, this was probably due to there being a shared bathroom on my corridor.

This is an okay place to stay while visiting St Leonard’s and Hastings. It seems to be a family-run place and full breakfast is provided and is good.Quick walk to the train and to the beach and laundromat. Some improvements have been made to the property which are cosmetic and actually quite silly. There was an attempt to make this old hotel look opulent while neglecting things like upgraded beds and bedding, soundproofing rooms, replacing broken window seals and fresh paint on the exterior. Perhaps even by previous owners. Not sure. So, while the staff are friendly and seem eager to please, the faded glory of the place is rather sad. Windows that open and peekaboo views from our room was nice. Plenty of hot water for the shower and some toiletries provided also was a plus. All in all a good place to stay on a budget but wear earplugs or a noise machine in your headphones to get some sleep.
