This renovated two bedroom cabin, 2 full bathrooms has new appliances, kitchen, mattresses and a fresh new look to a cabin many have enjoyed over the years due its great location off the Blue Ridge Parkway tucked behind Spacious Skies Bear Den Campground. With 13 miles of trails to enjoy close by and just a few minutes before you are on the Blue Ridge Parkway, this cabin is a stylish basecamp for the outdoor enthusiast and those wanting to explore the High Country. Coming home, the mountain views are wonderful to enjoy while soaking in the hot tub.

  • The Orchard at Altapass is the only orchard that I have been to. Each time I go to Crabtree falls I try to go to the orchard, but this is not always possible because the store is closed during the winter for offseason. I also have never actually gone apple picking, but instead go inside the store and buy the already picked apples. The majority of the times I have visited, there is live bluegrass music. Different kinds of preserved canned foods line many shelves in the store. Homemade fudge is sold, as well as ice cream. During the fall parking can be rough, since it is peak leaf and apple season. This picture captures the vastness of the Appalachian region in my eyes: the life present, the rich colors, and the visibility of the mountains far away. I can recall the sweet smells of the many trees producing apples. #appalachianechoes

An Absolute Gem

This property is stunning, inside and out. The kitchen area is gorgeous, the walls are beautiful, and the beds are perfect. Incredibly clean and expertly maintained. The views from the wrap-around porch each morning are everything we could have asked for. The owners are expert communicators, and made us feel right at home. We will absolutely be staying here next time we're in town!

The host went above to always answer my questions even in the late evenings and allowed us to have our pet. She went beyond on all aspects we were blessed with quiet peaceful beautiful accommodations which were exquisite and so efficient in provision. I cannot compliment her enough. Thank you Gwynne!
