"Location! Location! Location! If you’re visiting Carlsbad Caverns this motel is right outside the National Park entrance. We wanted to get tickets for a ranger led tour of King’s Palace which meant needing to line up outside the visitor center one hour before it opened. We also wanted to return for the bat flight program at sunset. This location allowed us to go back and forth from motel to the park for these events. Breakfast consisted of cereal, packaged muffins, OJ and coffee. "

"Compared to the brand-name hotels further down the road, this inn is basic and might seem questionable as you turn into the dirt lot and see the trailers. HOWEVER, the lovely couple who runs this place is so friendly and helpful. Our room was small but fit a queen sized bed, a desk, a wardrobe, refrigerator, microwave, and the sink. And, everything - the room, the bathroom, towels and sheets - was super clean! Breakfast was in the front trailer, where check-in is. There were two types of cereal, coffee, granola bars, cookies, and fruit. In the fridge were milk, apple juice, cranberry juice and yogurt. The owner boiled hot water and brought the kettle out to us. This is a great option for more affordable accommodations in Carlsbad where the hotels tend to be pricey. "
